I received my Powerlite S5 directly from Epson on Wednesday (today is Friday). I have used it about 5 times and I absolutely love it! Some people say that this projector washes out the colors a little bit, but I must say that I disagree somewhat. At 2000 lumens, I find it to be wonderfully bright. Now I haven't tested any dark movies (I'm talking "Lord of the Rings" dark, but I will gladly update my review as soon as I try those types of movies. I did, however, watch "Defiance" and boy! I was surely blown away.) That covers the video usage portion of this review.
I had my projector setup in my living room temporarily because my Vantage Point CGUPM06-S Universal Front Projector Mount - Silver (purchased directly from Amazon.com) had not yet arrived. I received the mount just a few hours ago and have not yet been able to set it up yet, so I will update when I have it on the ceiling.
Now, as far as computer use goes for this projector, I had the lights in my living room turned on (all of them) and I could still see the projected image very well. And, when I turned the projector off, you could easily notice the room get darker. Not much darker, but a noticeable amount darker. I also ordered a RiteAV - SVGA Monitor Cable - 25 Ft., but that has not yet come, either. I will write a review for each of those items as well.
I also intend to put pictures of my setup under the customer images section, so be sure to look for those.
Setup of this projector is very straight forward and it comes with very detailed directions in case you get confused.
**UPDATE (August 9th, 2009): My projector is now up on the ceiling and it looks very nice up there. I had a little bit of trouble inverting the picture (in the Menu on the projector), but that was because I didn't do that first. My fault, no stars deducted.
**UPDATE (September 17th, 2009): One thing that is rather annoying (and I think this is with all Epson projectors) is that the hour counter DOES NOT start until it has hit 10 hours of use. Don't get freaked out if you check the hours after only a little bit of use, it most likely will start. This is obviously not very major at all, so the product will not lose stars.

I like it.
Nice and bright, cost efficiant bulb replacment (about 10cents and hour), Fast to setup, a little big, worked imediatly with my Mac.

Great little projector. I don't know how well it would work in a large auditorium, but it's great for home movie nights and family/church type slideshows. THRILLED with the price!

This is an excellent product!
I purchased this projector as a gift for my fiancee, since we are both teachers and love using powerpoint. Over Christmas we decided to open it and watch some movies on it. The quality was excellent. We hooked up some speakers and a sub-woofer and are now debating not even bringing it to schools (Hey kids, let's do overheads!) I had been nervous that there were other "more hi-tech" versions around but I figured it was only going to be used for powerpoints, but it's definitely a good home theater projector as well. We watched Dark Knight, Heroes, and even played Rock Band for Wii. The built in speakers worked well for the wii since we can't hook up the speakers (or haven't figured it out yet). They were definitely loud enough to rock out, even over the banging of the drums. An excellent buy and well worth the money. Only wish I could purchase an extended warranty on the thing. I know how much replacement bulbs cost, but these seem to be the cheaper end of the spectrum. Definitely worth the money, and I'm considering buying one for myself!

Good Projector
Nice picture for the price. I use it to connect to Directv, Playstation, and Dvd Player. The projector itself isn't the prettiest thing to look at but it does produce a nice picture. You need to buy a VGA to Component and I use a splitter since there is only one VGA(computer) input. Overall this is a good entry level projector considering it's low resolution 800x600. Bulbs are inexpensive and can be changed without having to unmount the projector from the ceiling.
