I have been very happy with my Coby MP-C886 MP3 Player with 1 GB Flash Memory, FM Radio & USB Drive. I received it only a few days after purchasing it! Very easy to use! I would highly recommend this customers.

Works good for me, great features

Looking at the other reviews, I guess quality control isn't perfect for Coby, so if you happen to get a lemon you're going to have some fun exchanging them until you get a good one. I got a good one first go, though, and it's worked flawlessly. Brilliant screen with a great resolution and nice colors, a well-designed user interface (though it'd be nice to switch more easily between shuffle and play-through), and a rich assortment of features that don't get in the way when you just want to play some tunes.

The player feels rugged, weighs practically nothing, and runs for an incredible amount of time on one battery -- though since it just uses a AAA, even if it runs out while you're on the road, you can fill 'er up at any store.

One minor flaw: in Windows XP it won't show as a simple drive letter, but instead as a Media Player device. I guess that's supposed to be better, but all it did for me was make it harder to load stuff onto it. You can't rename folders on the device, for instance; you have to set things up how you want them named somewhere else and then copy the whole lot over. Plus you can't access files on the device from inside most software.

One minor improvement would be support for .m3u playlists, but since you can just drop stuff into folders and then play a single folder or all folders, it's no big deal. If they did offer playlist support, I would use that instead of shuffle; as on most devices, shuffle won't guarantee to play everything once before playing anything twice, or let you know when you're done, but it's good enough, so this is a very minor shortfall.

Overall, though, this is ideal for use on an exercise bike, on a bus or plane, or anywhere else on the go. If you happen to get a lemon, return it. You've got a warranty, use it!

Came with dead battery. Took a bit to figure out how to get music loaded. After that it worked fine.

I ordered this mp3 player for my 12 yr old daughter. She loves it!!! It was so easy to get everything set up. She had all her favorite music on it in just a few minutes. It is also very easy to use.
