Awesome speakers for anything.

I love these speakers. They are very good quality for the price I paid. I listen to metal so these speakers have gone through alot of pounding but they are still like new. The bass is very deep for such a small sub and people sometimes wonder where the bass is coming from because they don't believe it can do that. Very loud and the bass is adjustable. The downside is that there is lots of interference with wireless signals coming from my phone and my router. Whenever I receive a message there's a loud noise that lasts for about a second. But oddly I find it useful because it alerts me that I'm getting a message. There is a constant noise that it receives from my wireless router that is a bunch of clicking. With a simple adjustment of the antenna I can get rid of the noise. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Wonderful, non-vibrating speakers.

Its a pity that Altec Lansing stopped this system.
This is great.
I had connected it to my PC for a long time and then moved it to my DVD Player/LCD TV combo.
Amazing Fidelity and does NOT vibrate like cheap speakers.

For $33.15 you get a lot of sound for you money.

My husband wanted a radio and mp3 player for work. So I found this unit after reading lots of reviews about a year ago. He took it to work and it out played his co worker's ipod version that was twice the price of this unit. His co worker couldn't believe he only spent 33.00 on this speaker system and wanted to buy one himself.

My husband hooks his $60.00 Sansa Fuze to it and can listen to fm radio at work as well as his Rhapsody downloaded playlists. Unfortunately at work they use a computer system, thin client, that will not permit him to stream music through the speakers but you can. We took it home and hooked it to the tv and got a much better sound from the tv. I also streamed our Rhapsody channels through it at home and it sounded good. I even connected it to a switch box and can switch the speakers to the tv or the computer with a click of the clicker. But you know you can use them as pc speakers too.

We are not super audiophiles but this is a really good sound for the money. You don't have to worry about it at work since you didn't spend a lot on it. The one negative is the the bass speaker in the bigger box has no cover to it so you need to make sure you place it in a spot where it won't get kicked or bumped into. This would be a great unit for a teenager for their mp3 players and you won't feel like if something happens to it you are out a lot of money.

I see they no longer have this available on Amazon. I hope the next generation is as good as this one was. This one is still playing great and we have had zero problems with it.

Altec Lansing VS2421

I have had these speakers for nearly one year and they sound terrific! They deliver excellent abd inexpensive sound for music and for gaming. I have really come to like the separate off/on volume unit that lays on the desk.

The only one thing you shuld know is that this unit is NOT shielded, however, the only thing that gives them fits is a cell phone - they haven't gotten interference from any other source. If this is an issue you can work around, I recommend this computer speaker set. :)

great bang for the buck

I tried several small speaker systems & was just not too thrilled with any of them. I had read good reviews on the Altec VS2421 so I bought the system & hooked it up. For the price the sound is very, very good. You would probably have to pay over $100 to get a better sounding system than this. If pushed vey hard these will distort, but at normal levels they are clean and clear sounding with a solid bottom end. The wired remote with treble and a level control comes in very handy to adjust the sound without having to open some drop down menu. If you listen to music on your computer with generic computer speakers, you really need to try some "real" speakers by Altec Lansing.
