Great looks and sound

(5 out of 5) by C. McCashin on Apr 24, 2009 (Tennnessee,USA)
I was looking for a "silver" faced radio as a replacement that had an "audio in" plug for my Ipod. The only one I found was this one. It has better sound than the factory radio I removed. A lot of receiver for the money!

Value Proposition: Sounds AWESOME!!!! Didn't cost much

(5 out of 5) by Value Proposition on Sep 29, 2009
With shipping included the Clarion M275 Marine Stereo arrived at my doorstep for under $97. I had it professionally installed with a top of the line pair of 6.5" two way speakers and the sound is AWESOME! When underway the volume is not quite enough to be heard over the engine and wind noise but I bought the stereo to listen to when beached at the sand bar and for that it does a great job.

Newer (read more expensive) Marine stereos may cost more but I don't see the value in their added features (I do not want or need a remote or a larger display). This unit plays any CD/MP3/WMA format, has the auxiliary jack for my iPod/portable MP3 player right on its face, costs under $100 and sounds AWESOME when paired with high quality speakers. What more could you ask for? Throw in a second set of speakers and an amp and you will have a slamming set up!

If you are looking for a straight forward receiver and are in doubt about this unit because so many others sell for $150 to $300 plus don't be. It is a true bargain.

Nice sound

This is still a new unit in my boat, but the sound compared to my original cheapy stereo is night and day. I can`t wait to add 2 more speakers next season. well worth the money!

Great product

(5 out of 5) by George Bures on Sep 3, 2009 (Wisconsin Rapids, WI USA)
This player delivered as advertised. It installed very easily and performs great. I did not find, as one reviewer said, a skipping in heavy weather. Although if it's too rough, I tend to pay attention to my duties as skipper and forego listening to the CD player.

Display needs work

(1 out of 5) by Mr. William L. Hayes on Aug 6, 2008 (Naugatuck, Ct. United States)
The display on this unit is hard to see during the day in shaded areas. It's easy to see in direct sunlight which a marine radio should be, but mine is set up in a shaded area and it's very hard to see whats displayed. It works great at night due to display illumination. Also the source button is to close to the volume knob and often times I hit that button while trying to adjust volume while rolling and bobbing with the waves on the ocean. On the good side it's easy to use and sounds great...when I could see the display.
