Best iPod Shuffle headset

(4 out of 5) by Clay Baker on Apr 7, 2008 (Menlo Park, CA United States)
I needed headsets for doing field work on construction sites. Everything with wires failed because the cord always got hung up on something. The Apple Store at Stanford Shopping Center recommended I check out Monster iFreePlay cordless headsets. I was warned that they might appear overly dorky, and that sound quality will be average. Since I would be wandering around a construction site with a pile of plans and a pocket full of multicoled pens and mechanical pencils the "dork" factor was not an issue and for the reasonable price I was willing to risk the sound quality issue. My headset arrived very quickly, I snapped in my shuffle and had instant headset nervana. The sound quality is better than I expected. they don't have the range of bose or the warmth and reproduction quality of Sennheiser; but face they're only $40. They're also great on airplanes (could use a noise canceling version), or in my office when I want to shut everyone else out. I use them at home when I'm working in the yard and even when I'm skiing. Some reviews have stated that the controls are hard to work, I haven't had that problem, the curved section of the headphones makes it easy for me to find the shuffle controls. If I could change one thing it would be the comfort of the headband where it contacts the back of the ear. That needs a soft rubber to get rid of the plastic edge. An over the ear version with noise canceling would be great.

This is great for running. I got tired of the cord for the headphones and this works perfect.

this was a good purchase

(5 out of 5) by M. Z. martin on Mar 5, 2008 (Leavenworth, KS)
This product is good. I have had it for about a month now and used it at least 4 times a week, over 1 hour each time.
I run for about 40 minutes and lift weights for 30 or 40 minutes. No problems for me wearing it while exercising. While running it does not move. It sits well on the ears.

The quality of the sound is good and if I need more or less bass and/or treble or other adjustment in the sound, I simply use the equalizer on the iTunes.
I bought it because I did not want the wires anymore and am completely satisfied with it.
The iPod functions are easily accessible.
I started wearing it while making beds and others chores around the house because it is so quick to wear: put it on and push start, and the music is on.

The frame is light plastic but that does not bother me.
Also this product is not adjustable but this also does not bother me but you might want to know about it.

As I said, for me this is a good product.

AWESOME PRODUCT!

(5 out of 5) by K. Kilbourn on Feb 8, 2008 (nort carolina)
my husband is a cabinet installer and he's constantly using saws and dangerous equipment that headphone cords could interfere with. these are an awesome alternative to ear buds.. and they make listening to music during work safe and easy. good for all sizes of heads.. my hubby's is a little large and they fit him comfortably!
