They make me look like a borg

(3 out of 5) by L. Kanthatham on Jun 28, 2007 (Irvine, CA USA)
I just posted a full review of these headphones on my site. I would have to agree with a lot of the posters here that the build quality of the unit is not what I would expect from a $50 piece of gadget. Also, the Shuffle sticks out quite a bit when docked, making me look like a borg waiting for orders from the mothership.

The sound quality is decent. Can't compete with the stock iPod earphones. They sound kind of flat. And since the earpieces don't cover your whole ears, the sound does tend to seep out.

However, I would have to say that they do their job well. I took them running, jogging, etc. And they work really well. You just have to remember to wipe your sweat from the foam on the earpiece every so often.

Again, for a full review, you can go read it on my site.

Does not work for running

Clever design.. but runners should resist the temptation. These headphones will not stay in place whilst running.

Great solution

(4 out of 5) by Mel Mar on Sep 30, 2008 (Chicago, IL USA)
These are great. I have small ears, and have a hard time keeping earbuds in when I work out. My shuffle clips right to these, so they stay on without any cords to get in the way. The only problem is that they are not adjustable, so they're a little big - but they sit right above my ponytail and stay put pretty well.

Not for average to small heads

(2 out of 5) by S. Parry on Aug 28, 2008
I purchased these today and couldn't wait to take them out of the box. Here it is an hour later and they're packed up ready to go back for a refund. Like many I agree that the idea behind these is awesome! I love my shuffle but the cords can be annoying. I've put off buying these due to the $50 pricetag but finally caved after I received some gift cards.

As some have stated, they are extremely flimsy which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, due to the size of my head (or ears one), once I put them on, the bulk of the actual earphones (aka, the greatest sound producing section) rested just below the ear canal more one the lobe. This meant much of the sound escaped and was lost so it was not as enjoyable as in-ear phone or earphones that rest right on the ear canal. I tried to compensate by kicking the volume up A LOT but with the phones being below the canal the sound was just too poor. When I used my hands and raised the phones so that they rested right where they should be, the sound was better but still pretty cheap for what you spend on them. They also started to give me a headache after just two minutes due to the pressure points that the plastic arches hit behind my ears.

All in all, the sound quality isn't that great even when placed correctly and the lack of size adjustments make this a gamble for anyone with a noggin like mine. Maybe this style just isn't for me, but I suggest that if possible, go to a store and beg them to let you "try before you buy."

iPOD Shuffle Headphones, too big for many..

(3 out of 5) by K. Sweeney on Aug 13, 2008 (Wisconsin)
Bought these headphones to use while running with my ipod shuffle. They work just fine but are quite large. That is, if you have big head (physically) they are probably great. I have an average sized (female) head and they are too big. I was really hoping they would work but the smallest setting was still too big. The sound was fine so I don't want to be too negative about them, just know that they are really made for adult men.
