Great little system for the money
I picked this speaker system for my daughtyer to play her mp3 player in her room. She is very pleased with the sound she gets from it. Her brother who is a music maniac didn't believe the sound coming from her room from such an inexpensive product.

Low price, good item.
For the money, this is pretty darn good.
I'm happy with what I paid and as an audio engineer, that's not something easily accomplished. I'm fairly picky with the equipment I buy, but I needed a somewhat portable set of speakers for my iPod and Macbook, something under $30, that can fill a 10'x10' room. This system fits the bill.
This is *NOT* a stereo or bookshelf system, it's just a set of speakers! Keep that in mind when you go to buy it.
Plug and play, but be sure to fiddle around with the volume and bass knobs on the back of the woofer (go with mid level setting first), then go to your EQ settings on your iPod, laptop, etc. Taking advantage of EQ presets or your own presets will give you the best from this little gem.
I really do suggest making a few customized EQ settings in iTunes (or whichever program you use) for this speaker set. You will get more out of it that way.
This is not a heavy, bass boost, butt kicking system... if you want that, shell out the $200+ for a bookshelf system with a huge subwoofer, because it's not going to come from this speaker set. This set is good for filling small rooms and possibly a bit more. It has a nice sound and does resonate the bass and low end rather well when the right EQ is used.
It looks good to boot.
Very nice little speaker set.

Exceeded expectations.
I have had other Coby products in the past and they were junk, so I was skeptical when buying. I bought this to use with my Sansa Clip, and it just blew me away. You can turn the bass up loud enough that it will rattle things on your shelves, I never expected so much power from such a little thing. (Its only about the width of my hand.) I would recommend this to anyone looking for a 2.1 system.

Awesome Speakers...Incredible Price
I got these speakers for my boyfriend's MP3 Player...awesome sound, awesome bass. I hooked them up to my computer too and still great sound. No complaints at all. My boyfriend loves them and my brother has a set of them too that he loves. Overall, great deal and definitely recommend!!!

Good as anything out there for the price
Not saying much new here, just combining a couple observations made in various previous reviews. I searched for "mp3 speakers", found one that could play *any* mp3 player and was within the $40 dollar price range, picked these based on price, overall reviews, and looks (I am terribly biased when it comes to the visual appeal of a product). The input cable that it comes with for use with mp3 players works for me, but I can sympathize with those that were perturbed at its short length (approx. 3 ft.). The satellites can get about as loud as any sane appreciator of music could want them to get, and the sub-woofer is quite decent. One warning for potential buyers: when I first received the system, I messed around a lot with the bass and main volume levels (which is only natural), but in the process, I jostled the satellite and mp3 cables, which pretty much played musical chairs with what I was listening to. However, I purposely jostled the cables later on down the road, and my music was uninterrupted. So if you buy these and that happens to you, try "breaking them in" first. I dunno why they are fine now, but I am glad they are. A nice system overall.
