Brilliant Product

Jan 3, 2008 - By Naoki Ogishi

I was in the market for a new bag for work. I've never bought a lowepro product but their reputation was good, so I thought I'd give it a try.

What a pleasant surprise! Construction is fantastic, heavy material and stitching all around. Black with orange accents, it achieves a nice balance between conservative and trendy.

Also, this product can hold alot of stuff without losing it's shape too much.

This product also has alot of pockets, although I think that it should have more zippered pockets for loose items (has 3).

I'd recommend this product and definitely buy from Lowepro again.

Lowepro's camera bag experience pays off here.

Aug 19, 2008 - By J. Williamson (Bucks County, PA USA)

Don't like to sound like an advertisement here, but Lowepro's 40+ years of constructing high-quality camera cases and photo equipment backpacks cases pays off. This Lowepro Messenger Factor M Computer Bag is no exception, for it's a great balance of ergonomics, convenience, durability and good messenger bag styling. Lowepro has always been known for providing excellent padding in their camera bags, and that experience ensures that your investment in your notebook PC will be well protected.

Also worth noting is that there are plenty of pockets in this bag for power cords, USB items, and the accessories that we all carry with out notebook computers. This unit also doubles up as a good messenger bag, with a decent book compartment, perfect for storing legal pads and file folders.

This bag's well-padded interior was designed to fit most 15.4" wide-screen notebook computers, but if you need a larger version, check out the Lowepro Messenger Factor L Computer Bag, which is designed to fit 17" laptop computers.

The exterior both of these Lowepro Messenger Computer Bags is water-resistant, and they have has a slip-resistant rubberized carrying handle. One of the most important (and often overlooked) features of these and all Lowepro computer bags is their well-known and properly padded shoulder strap, one that seems to fit the shoulder better than most.

But we're all individuals who have particular needs and tastes, and luckily there are other excellent computer cases from Lowepro worth considering, such as the Lowepro Tropolis 1100 15" Notebook Backpack or the Lowepro Transit Briefcase L Notebook Case. These do cover a broad range of prices and features, but they all seem to have that same high-quality construction that made this company's name and reputation in the photographic world.

Pick the Lowepro Messenger Factor M Computer Bag or any of the others mentioned here and you can't go wrong.

Great Bag - But my Thinkpad Doesn't Fit

Sep 12, 2008 - By M. Dickson (Pekin, IL USA)

I really loved the features in this bag - but my 15.4" Thinkpad T61 will not fit in the Notebook compartment.

Checking the specs - the bag's compartment is 14" (35.56 cm) wide but the Thinkpad T61 is 14.11" (35.84 cm) - you'd think it would stretch for that extra .11 inch but it won't!

Otherwise, I'd have given it 5 stars.

So, be sure your laptop fits, before you order!

I got this one at a great gold box price - so, I'm keeping it and taking it to work to use to carry my work laptop to meetings rather than the heavy backpack they issue us.

Decent bag, but did not fit my Dell

Aug 25, 2008 - By Amazon Customer

I have a 15.4" widescreen Dell Latitude D820, a fairly common business laptop, which doesn't fit in this bag (it's about half an inch too wide).

Other than that, the bag seemed well-constructed except for the shoulder straps and top handle, which seemed rather narrow.

On the positive side, the bag is lightweight, has a lot of pockets, looks pretty decent, has a cushioned back, and sturdy-looking zippers.

I would've kept it if not for the size issue. Guess I had to learn the hard way that "most" doesn't mean "all".
