I had ordered this particular flash drive for its capabilities of fast read/write times and memory size (8GB). Well Amazon had a code mismatch with the supplier Dolomite Enterprises. I had ordered the Corsair Flash Voyager GT, much to my disappointment I did not receive the "GT" I had wanted, I received a flash voyager standard (8GB) drive. With my initial intentions of wanting to load a complete Linux operating system on the drive I needed a drive with fast read/write capabilities. I called the supplier Dolomite Enterprises and spoke with the owner of the company and was told that the Corsair Flash Voyager GT model had been discontinued some time ago and offered me a reduced price for the drive that was shipped. The credit of the reduced charge was immediate. After speaking with the supplier my frustration had gone away and I was pleased with the personal service that Dolomite offered.I would recommend them for future purchases.

Fast, But Died Easily for Me
Bought it after reading several reviews online of it's stellar performance. I wasn't disappointed - it's a fast drive to be sure. The rubber casing makes it very durable against shock and the occasional water spill. I do despise the cap though - it does not stay on at all, as it's only held in with friction of rubber against metal. I lost the cap within a week after purchase.
I've had several problems with it in the past year though. After about 7 months after purchase, the drive refused to detect in my computer. I tried several other systems as well, thinking it was a computer issue. Nope. It wouldn't even show up in the device manager of Windows XP. I got an RMA for it from Corsair and shipped it to them (my cost). A replacement arrived about a week and a half later (covered under warranty). This one worked great for about 4 months and died with the same problem. There was no physical damage to the unit - I examined it closely. And the most it did was sit in my pocket on my keychain the entire time I had it. The 2nd RMA couldn't be a replacement - apparently this model line has been discontinued. I was offered a 16GB non-GT drive, or the full purchase price refunded. I choose the later, but the choice was appreciated. After some delays with getting my refund check (8 weeks later), it finally came, and I bought a Sandisk Titanium 8GB instead. Been happy ever since.
If the model is still being offered, and at a good price, I'd say go for it. Maybe my experiences were just an unfortunate string of bad models. Even still, the lack of a secured cap was a big negative for me personally. I thought there would have been more friction to keep it on when I first bought it. The Sandisk has a retractable connector which works much better.
To each their own.

Fantastic, fast, roomy and good encryption software bundled
Title says it all. This thing is the fastest thumb drive I've ever had. At 8GB its roomy for todays field of devices. And the encryption software that comes with it is easy to use and powerful. I only wish the 16GB model was as good a performer... but 8GB is already a large device. Worth the premium for the extra speedy performance.

So fast, I thought it didn't work
How fast is it? I saved a zip file of about 6 mb and I didn't see the progress dialog. I thought it didn't work. I saved it again and I was aske if I wanted to replace the one I just copied.
The speed of this thing is really notable. It's in a class by itself.
