Perfect sound for AuX-IN

This adapter allows perfect sound quality from your Ipod without having to worry about the music on the ipod being too loud etc. This disables your ipod volume control so you simply have one master control on your stereo knob. The sound quality and charging capability make this a perfect addition to my vehicle. Buy it..you'll love it.

The got-to-have ipod car adapter
(5 out of 5) by HughDaMan on Oct 1, 2007 (Eastern PA, USA)Back when I was using an Archos mp3 player, I had a hacked OS that would start playback from where last stopped when I turned the car on and stop playback when I turned the car off. When I transitioned from Archos to Ipod, this was the functionality I was looking for -- only nobody had it -- short of a few major hunks of hardware in $200+ range. [Why Apple didn't include a car mode in the ipod, I have no idea.]
But now there is this simple product that plugs into your ignition controlled lighter outlet, your radio aux-in jack, and your ipod. Turn on the ignition, and the ipod powers up AND starts playing where it last stopped. Turn off the ignition, and the ipod instantly goes into pause mode and then powers down on its own after the built-in timeout period.
This product is amazing.
[Note: it will only work if your lighter outlet turns on and off with the ignition, and according to the manufacturer, will not restart if you were playing video -- only while playing audio.]

Charger does NOT work with Iphone 3G

When you plug it in to your Iphone, it will give a message that the charger is incompatible with the Iphone and that the charger will be disabled. The audio connection still works and sounds good, but charging will not happen.
Works well

I also wanted a charger, I thought this would mean I'd have two wires coming out of my iPod, which would work, but isn't aesthetically pleasing. This cable combines the two into one plug on the bottom of my iPod giving digital signal to my car. I'm not certain if I should be concerned about it over charging my iPod's battery or other concerns I've read about with other chargers, but all in all its a simple solution that I'm surprised there aren't more of out there.
