Great for the money

For the money this is a great radar detector. Beats my old cobra by a mile.

This is a winner

This is the second Whistler that I've owned with POP Alert and I'm very happy with it. In fact the moments after plugging in the unit and going for a drive I picked up an Austin Policeman clocking radar on the highway. No radar detector is fool proof, they're just for reducing the risk of getting a ticket.

Not worth it

(2 out of 5) by Brett A. Miller on Jun 10, 2009
This item is a real turd. It goes off for no reason half the time when a police car is near it doesn't seem to notice. It is worthless on the toll road it goes off none stop not sure why, it is the same in town. I bought it on sale if I would have paid full price I would really be upset. Go a different route. I also have a cobra and I wish I would have just stuck with that brand maybe, I don't know

Father

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. It works as advertised. She got the warning well in advance of the radar speed trap.

First time buyer, very satisfied

(4 out of 5) by R. Gallegos on Jan 21, 2009
I purchased this product as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. She has to make weekly highway trips of 3 hours or more. Needless to say she has a tendency to push the speed limit a bit. She has been using it for over a month now on many long road trips and hasn't had any problems yet. It seems to give great warnings.
