Terrible Sound

The sound is terrible. 100% Volume, 100% Base and 100% Treble and it was just normal volume at 6 feet. Three of us standing 6 feet away saying "is that it for volume?" Completely unacceptable loudness in both TV and DVD mode. From the Spec sheet in the box, it only puts out 1.5 watts, very low volume for a TV. Don't buy it unless you have bionic ears. Ours could have been defective, but we won't buy a Haier again unless it shows the sound output level in the Tech Spec's section of Amazon (it did not when we bought it).

For the price...a steal of a deal

The visual quality is very high and the TV is both sleek and stylish. It is also very light to carry. You really can't find a better deal on an LCD HDTV anywhere around.
Bottom line: while the sound is definitely not adequate, that is easily solved simply by buying speakers; which is much cheaper than finding another TV with a higher audio output.
