NOT FOR DANCE/TRANCE MUSIC...BUT....still audio nirvana
i purchased these set of shure's and are my first pair of "really" high end earphones....and frankly speaking not very impressed by the performance..(yeah i know i am contradicting all those 5 star ratings...upon which i purchased this in the first place)....
i mainly listen to trance/house/dance music...and this does not give you the performance that it should command for such a price....my previous set of earphones were bose tripods and it had a lot of bass...boomy i would say...and not liking to everyones taste....i love bass and the more the better....so if you are the type who has my tastes.....i would suggest avoid these headphones
but i would like to add.....these are AWESOME for all other types of genre's....esp anything that uses a guitar....pure audio nirvana.....
i am now goin to purchase an amplifier for my ipod to booster the bass performance....and then will see the difference...and hopefully get better results....else would sell them off on ebay.....
again.....if you listen to music through your ipod....and listen to trance/house/dance types of music....and like "LOADS" of bass...avoid....cause these headphones have a balance of all the 3...low,mid and high....but might be a tad lacking in the bass department....
this is my opinion cause i am comparing the bass response of the shure's to the bose tripod.....(yeah i know a crappy comparison, but still is a comparison for all those bass junkies)
i thought i should put it out there......cause i love bass....and this isnt as satisfying as i expected it to be...after all you are paying almost half a grand for it...right?
note:after i purchased these earphones, when i realized there little bass in them,i had asked for replacement....but the new ones are the same.....guess thats how shures are...
EDIT.....UPDATE....
i recently purchased a fiio e5 amplifier...and also srs i wow software plugin for my itunes.....and after i have got those two add on's....i have to say...
I TAKE BACK MY PREVIOUS REVIEW....THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY AWESOME...and i mean...ABSOLUTELY...even that could be an understatement...trully audio nirvana...you cannot get a better sound than this...PERIOD
but this is kinda of a drawback too, that is...if you really want to get the best outta your shure's....you have to invest more into making your output from the original source more refined(if you are using mp3's)...but once you do that....its worth every penny you spend....trully magical...
if u are looking just put this as your investment....and that's it...like not on an amplifier(though the fiioe5 is just $24) and you just want to work using your ipod...and thats it...and YOU LISTEN TO TRANCE/HOUSE or similar music...mp3(192kbps)....i still wouldnt suggest it...but invest a little more....and ENJOY THE BEST EARPHONES ON EARTH...and go deaf in the process..lol...
I am loving my entire setup....and wouldnt change it for anything(srsiwow plugin for itunes,fiio e5 headphone amplifier,shure se 530 with/o 80gig ipod)
mind you....the kind of input(source) that the shure's get are really important...

Will that fit your ears????????????????????????????
Guys!! First check if that fit your ear's before buying it online. It doesn't fit my ears which made me to return. I bought Bose Quiet comfort 3 and I am happy with its performance.

It's all about the fit.
After spending 5 minutes getting them to fit just right they sound awesome at high and super high volumes. The base drops off fast at normal and low volumes. My $150 Bose over the ear headphones sound better, my $40 Sony earbuds fit better. You have to loop the wire over your ear, adding to the hassle of putting them on and taking them off. The included selection of earbud tips included just one pair that fit right for me. But wait, the gift box looks great!

Shure SE530s: Not that Good.
They're bright and transparent but lack in depth because of minimal bass. My UE Super Fi 5 Pro IEMs sound way more full-bodied and balanced. I'm not asking for "booming" bass, just, well ANY bass! I shelled out $300 and change for these "cans" and I feel robbed, to be honest. And the cheap wire that loops over the ears feel as if it's gonna break apart. Also, the sleeves are a pain when it comes 'twisting and pulling' them off.
And their weight is a joke: They feel like earphones you'd buy in a discount dollar store; cheap, crappy, 'MADE IN CHINA' junk. And after a few hours of using them, I'd experience a discomfort behind both of my ears, because Shure decided NOT to use a flexible-metal to fold their cheap wires around both ears. I will be selling these "things" ASAP, for they are an absolute rip-off of the up tenth³ degree.
And for you people giving these "things" a 4 and 5-star rating, well, you're living in a blissful world of naiveté--simply trying to justify your purchase by denying the fact that these "things" are garbage.
They're not worth $500. Hell, they ain't even worth $200--maybe $100. The sound that you get, for the price you pay, is not worth it.
Don't buy 'em, people!
