Works well initially. I like that it has AF/FM Radio. Battery life not too good.

Simple and works good!

I bought this to use at the gymm. It's nothing fancy, but it gets the job done! I'm happy with it. I wasn't going to spend $150 on IPOD or something like that! This MP3 player is enough for me!

Coby 1G Flash Player

(5 out of 5) by David W. Julian on Sep 20, 2009 (Evansville, IN)
Not a lot of capacity but at the price it's a fantastic buy. Great tool for learning Spanish, copied all my Pimsleur files to player and listen while I exercise.
Seems to use a battery rather quickly, surprisingly fast for an electronic device but, a battery isn't that expensive.

12 months and still going strong

So tiny, so cheap and sounds so good. There was a file loading/un-loading glitch at first. This wasn't exactly fixed, but I found a way around it with a little common sense and perseverance. The supplied headphones worked fine but weren't to my taste, so they were replaced. Also added an adapter so I can play it through my car cassette deck - which sounds just great. All in all, no complaints at all - I don't expect perfection for less than [...] bucks.

COBY MP3 Player - Reliable With Many Features

(5 out of 5) by Roger on Mar 4, 2009 (Mansfield, Ohio)
The COBY name is a much overlooked product brand.
I own several MP3 players and this is one of the best and here's why:

The Pros -
- This player has a very small profile and is quite rugged in construction.
- Reliable. I've used mine for two years without a problem.
- Built in USB plug; no USB extension cord to fool with.
- No special software required. This is recognized like a standard flash drive and you can store other things in addition to MP3 sound tracks. This is a real plus!
- Built in FM radio receiver.
- Uses one standard AAA battery, or if you prefer, use a rechargeable AAA; unlike most current players that use built in proprietary batteries which make you wait for the thing to charge up before you can use it. Other reviewers may have noted a shorter battery life with this player. But that's not a problem - Remember - This uses a standard inexpensive battery.
- You're provided with a choice of several nice display background colors which can be set to stay lit or disabled to save battery life.
- Produces considerably more volume than most other players.
- Sound quality from treble to bass is excellent.
- Transferring files is a snap. Simply drag and drop MP3 tracks into a folder you make, and name of your choice, or you can drag a whole folder of tracks into the player. It's that simple.
Just make sure You Don't delete the pre-installed folders and software that is on the player. These are required to make this device function properly.

Cons -
- There are many features built into this player and I had to spend some time to figure out how to navigate through them as the instruction booklet is not quite descriptive enough. However it's worth the little effort required. Unlike most people, I strip the the ID3 tags off my tracks, and rename and number them in order and place them in folders by category.

In these economically troubled times; if your on a shoestring budget and your wanting a little enjoyable entertainment to brighten up your life; combine this COBY player with the JVC HAS150P Folding Headphones with Ipod - Matching Colors (Pink).
