Awesome mp3 player!

The coby mp3 player is a must buy. The fm tuner is very good. Easy to use and load with music to listen to while out and about. You have options of lcd screen background light color. The head phones deliver a good sound.

Difficult to navigate

(3 out of 5) by Debora L. Krell on Sep 7, 2007 (Kalispell, MT USA)
I liked the compact size, easy download capability, the 2G memory and the price however it was difficult to store and then retrieve the files once they were on the device. Obvious you lose some functionality when you pay less than $30 for a storage device. All the files need to be set up before you download the them, i.e. playlists, favorites, etc. becuase once the items are stored it is not 'one button' friendly to scroll through the stored files. I have a Toshiba Gigabeat and love the ease of use, simple buttons located conveniently when walking or running and even driving. I bought the Coby as a gift for my sweetie who is a runner. I know we will be replacing the Coby for a device that is easy to use in the near future and use this as a data memory stick only and not for music. If you don't mind spending hours trying to figure this out and don't want to scroll through music files while being active, it would be a great buy. Also, managing your files requires you to have ready access to a computer since you can't sort once files are stored on the device.

Coby 1GB mp3

(4 out of 5) by bridge guru on Oct 6, 2008
Works fine. Great options. No problem with Windows Media (older version or newer version) player like some people have said in their reviews.

It makes me wonder if some people had the player locked (i.e. there is a locking function which disables the sync) when trying to sync. Initially this happened to me, unknowingly, but I was able to diagnose the situation. The problems people describe about it not syncing is similar to what was happening to me when I unknowingly had the lock button in the locked position.

Works OK but USB broke

(2 out of 5) by Francis Force on Jul 4, 2008
I bought this player so I could listen to music while jogging. For that purpose it has worked fine. Unfortunately the USB interface stopped working after about a month. In other words it still plays music but I am no longer able to put any new music on it. Others have mentioned this as well so my advice is to make sure you copy over all the music you want early on.
