Works for me

(4 out of 5) by Wayne Williams on Jan 7, 2008 (massachusetts)
I used this wall mount to put up my 42 hitachi and it worked ok. It isn't made to be able to mount on a single stud, which would have been better for me since I was mounting to a 47 inch wide chimney wall, but it had lots of screw holed that enabled me to use two studs off center and made it work. The tilting feature works well and the tv seems safe on the wall. Mounting took about 20 minutes. I would have like to take my time and do it a little slower, but my friend was rushing.

Great mount for a great price , other reviewers said hardware was of poor quality , i disagree , drill the correct size pilot holes and you will have no problems , love the hdmi cable , put up my 40" sony lcd in about 30 mins , including running low voltage wires through the wall , you cant go wrong with this product , also shipping was fast @ 3 DAYS.

Can't beat for the price, be sure to use hand tools...

(5 out of 5) by J. Bishton on Sep 26, 2009
In the sea of flat panel wall mounts, I feel we have a gem here. It's just as nice as the more expensive units, but a fraction of the cost. The bonus of the included HDMI cable is just icing on this lovely cake. I read the reviews of this product before purchasing and found the general opinion to be that the mounting bolts would break if anyone attempted to put up the unit with them. This leads me to believe that they disobeyed the manufactures instructions stating not to use power tools. I installed mine with a wrench (instructions call for 7/16 but 13mm is what fit) and had no issues of any kind. The only point that I would criticize is that when securing the bottom bolts, unless the installer has a very long screwdriver, it will be difficult to properly secure it. But if that's the most significant worry, it's not a bad deal. Bottom line: Take your time with installation and you will love your purchase. Thank you for your time.

Best tilt mount for the money

(5 out of 5) by C. S. Howard on Aug 4, 2009 (North Alabama)
I looked at mounts in the local stores and prices ran the gamut from $75 to over $200 dollars. This seemed excessive for what amounts to less than $10 worth of hardware and stamped steel. I looked here on Amazon and was tempted to buy the lowest cost tilt mount, but a couple of reviews indicated it was kind of flimsy, and I didn't want to hang a $1200 LCD from a questionable mount. The reviews for this one where overwhelmingly positive, so I ordered it. For $40 shipped I am extremely pleased. I mounted the wallplate and hung the brackets in place, and holding onto the brackets I hung all of my 200+ lbs off the floor (Be sure all 4 mounting bolts are securely in wall studs if you plan to attempt a similar maneuver). The unit felt rock solid. Mounting a Sharp Aquos 46" LCD (the 46E77, which is about 55 lbs) above our fireplace proved to be no problem using the supplied hardware. I can't imagine why a tilt mount should cost any more than this one. You certainly won't be getting more value by spending more elsewhere, unless the mounting holes on your LCD are too far apart for this unit. The Sharp 46" LCD was nowhere near the maximum range of adjustment for the brackets or the mounting plate.

The kit contains all the hardware needed to attach the unit to wall studs or masonry. A level is not included, which you will probably find very useful. One of the cheap 12" plastic levels from Harbor Freight or a home supply store is really all that is needed.

Solid as a rock

This mount is a terrific value plus it's easy to install. And that's a good thing because the instructions aren't stellar. All I had to do was find two appropriate studs, mark the holes, drill pilot holes, bolt it in place, connect the vertical mounts to the TV and marry the two together. The only wrinkle was when I had to reverse the left and right vertical mounts for the TV. I thought the instructions could have been much clearer on that point but still it was an easy job. The end product is excellent with enough strength the handle my 40" Samsung set with ease. I could hang from the mount if I were so inclined. This product deserves a solid five stars.
