$15? A must have for Wired Wii owners...

(5 out of 5) by M. J. Hodgkins on May 4, 2008 (New York, NY)
Simplicity defined.

Step 1. Take out of package.
Step 2. Plug into LAN connection.
Step 3. Plug into the back of your Wii.
Step 4. Go to Wii's Internet options, configure under "Wired". Wait.
Step 5. Start enjoying that fact that your Nintendo Wii is now online.

If you are looking to get your Wii online via a wired connection (which is near flawless compared to it's wireless counterpart) and you would like to save yourself some money, this really is the best option. Nintendo would like to charge you $30 for the exact same product -- DON'T BE FOOLED. Not only is this unit cheaper, it is smaller in size. Trust me when I say the official unit is a gargantuan lump of plastic.

I purchased it through Planex Communications, Inc. to get the free shipping option, as I had another order to go with it. No problems to report from that side of the deal either. It should be noted that PCI does not bundle an Ethernet cable with it. If you don't have a spare lying around, you can purchase a very cheap one via Amazon.

I'm giving the UE-200TX-G USB2.0 LAN Adapter 5 Stars and a little pat on the back.

Amazing item for the price

(5 out of 5) by C. A. Sanders on Feb 23, 2008 (Florida)
If you, like myself, are annoyed by your Buffalo-powered Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector (which is being discontinued soon), you'll find solace in physically connecting your Nintendo Wii console to the Internet with this inexpensive device.

The quality of this LAN adapter is quite remarkable for a mere ten dollars, it includes two LED lights to indicate power and link usage. The feel of the adapter is solid. It's bright white and looks exactly like it belongs with the equally white Wii console.

My adapter came inside nice-looking packaging, with plenty of color, specifications, and other useful information. Inside the plastic package was a driver CD (I did not need to use this), a warranty card with policy on back, and a large Quick Installation Guide paper with black-and-white photos of how to install and use the adapter with a computer.

I was able to just plug the adapter in the back of the Wii, connect an Ethernet cable from the LAN connector to my cable modem, go into the console's system setup, choose Wired Connection in the Internet section, and it automatically detected the link and I was able to catch up to the latest updates.

This product is great for those who: Don't want the hassle of setting up a wireless router network, can't get their Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector to work, or want an inexpensive solution for connecting their Wii to the Internet.

Great product

(5 out of 5) by L. Patarino on Jun 24, 2008 (Venezuela)
Works really fine, just plug it into your wii and that's all. The best thing is that you can use this little friend in any computer to convert an usb port into a lan port. Simply sweet.

Fast delivery, good price and works great. We use it to surf the net and play Mario Kart with others around the world. Does what it's suppose to for less than than other brands.

Lol wut? Wow!

Well I am cheap and I don't have WiFi in my home so I had my choice between the official lan adapter or this one. This one didn't have any bad reviews and so I bought it. I can see why it doesn't have any bad reviews on it. It works great. I did have some problems in the begining but it turned out it was my cable modem and not the adapter itself. I just had to unplug it and then plug it back in and it works. The only problem I have with this is that the cord is real short so I have to bring my wii closer to my computer to use it.
