Great cheap alternative to ipod

Feb 23, 2007 - By Travis Bennett (Indianapolis, IN USA)

Its just as fashionable as the ipod nano but considerably less expenisive. It is kind of difficult to use, but after time it gets easier. It doesnt have the click wheel but it has the radio, and it plays videos and store photos. The screen is bigger than an ipod's and its very clear. You can pick the color to match your style, its definitely a great buy. Oh and to put music on it you just plug it into the computer and drag the folder or files to the e:drive it becomes.

Not too bad.

Apr 29, 2007 - By MaestroC

This is a nifty Chinese MP3/MP4 ipod clone that works quite well. The instructions are in broken English, but the player is intuitive enough that you'll only need to glance them anyway to get a general idea of how the player works. When you receive the player, know that the battery is half charged, so you won't have to charge the player and will be able to play with it right away. Something that surprised me is that the USB cable also doubles as the charging cable in that the end that would normally go into your 2.0 USB port also connects to a separate plug that the player comes with. You'll also notice that the disk will contain 1.9 GB of space rather than 2 GB. This is because the player comes loaded with some content such as 2 songs, 2 photos, and a short animated movie. Also, be warned that this player does have a 1 month warranty and what happens after that I cannot say. This player also has a colorful GUI which displays all of the different functions that the user can choose from such as music, movie, record, radio, games, text, and telephone book. In order to exit a function once you choose it, just hold the menu button, and you'll find that you will be using the menu button alot. Also, the driver disk that the player comes with is useless unless you're using any OS less than Windows 2000. The player doesn't need to have a driver installed if the OS you're using is Windows 2000 or higher. I have Vista and it worked just fine. If you want to place movies on the player, I suggest downloading AMV converter software which you can find free on the internet. As far as the games go, what you have are just some simple games such as a Tetris clone, a Bejeweled clone, and a maze game.In all, I can say that this is a step up from the off-brand MP3 players that I have bought in the past. P.S. The reason I gave this product 3 Stars is that I have been using it for less than a month and haven't ran into any problems with it yet, so I don't want to mislead anyone given the problems that other consumers have said to have had with the device.

Bad Deal

Oct 1, 2007 - By P. Link (USA)

Do not order this product, it is a bad deal and you will regret it. I ordered two, the second one is DOA, the volume button does not work - I am still dealing with the seller on exchange it. Read the return policy-it is not an easy thing to exchange! Especially if you waited more than 5 days - I was out of town.

Take this from an IT guy:
-this player will not play .mp4 files as advertised in the subject line
-nowhere in the order process can you select any of the other colors as advertised. I wanted to order a pink one for my wife, but couldn't.
-it is a cheap Chinese knock off and even on the second player, the buttons occasionally stop working and the player has to be rebooted.
-it will play your mp3 and podcasts and it is easy to drag and drop them onto the device
-the screen is nice and sharp with plenty of colors
-you will have to replace the headset that it comes with - it is just beyond bad.
-after replacing the headsets and getting an adapter for the non-standard headset plug, I was impressed with the sound. I keep it on the Classical setting as I listen to podcasts while I ride my bike to work. The sound is clearer than other players.
-it comes with a very tiny manual written in bad english that does tell you how to use it; however, no website info and no info where to get the flash update. If someone found the website on the flash update, please post it here.

10/5/2007
The seller has directed me to a website with utilities, the below link to a file contains a format utility for this player along with other useful utilities, such as a converter for .mp4 videos so that they will play on this player.

I am still looking for the flash upgrade file...Help...

Great fun for half the price...

Sep 13, 2007 - By Gustavo Antonio Castante Ortiz (Costa Rica)

I bought an 4GB model at Wallmart, it really has the 4GB installed, this product plays .mp3 and .wma files (all sizes, even mp3-pro), as well as .JPG photos, .AMV videos, .TXT for e-book reading, also has an FM radio with 40 presets (and you can record the radio programs !!!), EQ with 7 modes: Natural, DBB (flat), JAzz, Classic, rock, POP, vocal...you can record voice sessions in 4 different modes (.wav and .act), play preinstalled games, also you can hear your voice recordings thru a small speaker (yes, it also has a built-in speaker and microphone), looks and weights exactly like an Ipod, but you can do so much more things with this little fellow, like carry data files from your home PC to your office desktop, don't need special cables o software...I really don't know why people talk so bad about this chinese product, maybe they don't give it a chance to perform...the sound is really GREAT, specially for jazz and rock, but you can hear every kind of music without a problem, I really recommend this product, my only recommendation is: change the earphones for a good pair of SONY or Sennheiser earbuds to maximize your pleasure...don't worry, you've the wallmart warranty,I gave it 4 stars only for the bad manual and the poor software, but that really don't affect the performance of the player at all...thanks.- and for your knowledge: original Apple Ipods are made in China, like mine, so whats the great deal?.

Dont waste your money

May 12, 2007 - By april (usa)

I like may others ended up buying this thinking that I could save a bundle by not spending it on ipod, but I was wrong. The player works, but there does not seem to be any software that seems to work with the player other then windows player. You will not be able to use podcast on this and cannot use the video player on the device. The only good thing that came out of this was the fact that I could salvage it by using it as a backup device.

Save your money and buy the ipod instead
