Wait just a little bit longer...

Feb 22, 2007 - By 02gsxr (WI, USA)

I'll admit it I am a little biased towards NVidia and have always used their cards. The 8800GTS and GTX are both amazing cards, even the 320MB version blows everything else out of the water! However AMD/ATI is going to be releasing the R600 very soon - The official spec's on the card are a 512-bit bus and GDDR4, and a lower version with GDDR3. You can expect that the numbers will be a bit higher in the benchmarks therefore there will be a battle once again between the two. I would assume NVidia has something up their sleave to combat this card... maybe an 8900GTX?? 8950?? Anyways, prices on these products will drop dramatically so I'd hold off just a little bit longer if you can before buying these cards...

Works great at 1680X1050

Jun 4, 2007 - By David A. Butcher (Cleveland, TN USA)

I use a 20.1" widescreen LCD monitor which runs at 1680 X 1050 resolution. This card runs everything I've thrown at it, including Flight Simulator X, F.E.A.R, Halflife 2, Command & Conquer, etc. with aplomb, all details set to HIGH. So long as you are not exceeding 1920X1200 resolution, this 320 MB card is fine for your use. If you are running extra high resolutions, such as 2560X1600, go for the 640 MB or GTX versions. But this card is an excellent buy for the money.

It does run rather HOT. Make sure your case has adequate ventilation.

The budget 8800 Nviida card

Jun 26, 2007 - By datarush (Atwater, CA United States)

If you like 3D PC games and don't have an extra $5-600 in your couch, this is the card to get. It packs enough punch to handle any game at typical resolutions up to 1600x1200 with everything set at high, and it barely breaks a sweat. I'm not at all convinced SLI is worth it for most situations, but as a single video card, this is great!

Hot performer

Jul 3, 2007 - By A buyer

Great card at a good price. Card is fast and graphics are great. Runs hot, but I guess all GPUs with this performance do.

Great Product with full cababilities

Jul 8, 2007 - By S. Al-Mutairi (KSA)

I bought this product after I read many reviews through forums and online-shopping sites and convinced that this is the one I need ..

pros: compared to my other card ( radeon 1950x 512Mb AGP ) I found the EVGA e-GeForce 8800GTS performs better although sometimes it`s diffecult to tell in some games ..

cons : huge card , needs more space ( you may need to upgrade your case )

conclusion: excellent card with affordable price ..
