Video and mp3 player. Not much of an text reader
(4 out of 5) by J. Kowalski on Sep 19, 2007 (Mililani, HI)A criticism. The ebook feature for this device is a mean-spirited joke. The first frustration is the load time. A longish novel (over 100 pages) will take 2 to 3 minutes to load onto your screen. Why, is beyond me. By comparison, a 2 hour long movie (probably 100 times larger file size) will load, and start playing in about 10 seconds. The reader pretty much ignores any formatting, including indents and line spacing, and will not justify text on its own screen. That is, it actually cut off lines of text midword. In addition, while you are able to alter the background wallpaper of the player to pretty much anything you want, you are stuck with a dull red background for the reader. Also, when the features description said text, thats what they meant. You can forget about reading palm dba or any other popular ebook format on this. If there are others to whom this is a significant purchasing point, be warned. As for the other features, not really an audio or videophile, so I will defer to the other commenters. No problems personally
Nice Media Player.
(4 out of 5) by R. Jones on Dec 2, 2009This was a nice media player I bought for my daughter for Christmas. It is a little tricky getting movies to play and sync. Must find the right combo. Has a good amount of features. How ever my daughter droped it and crack the LCD screen. To bad because I really like this media player.

Needs to be charged at least 4hrs before using. There is a red light at the top rt of the unit that should change from red to green. The unit remained red after 12 hrs and it never got warm ( common with a good charge)
J&R quickly issued an AR but I believe the ship back/insurance is at my expense...according to the docu's. I don't care for that.
Another unit will be shipped and I will test/review the unit. What I received looked good.
UPDATE....received another unit. All is well.
I am pleased with video....good colour...audio. Just watched a Survivor episode.
Watched a slide show...no problem.
I have not tried d/l music or FM yet.
Re SD...I don't think it supports SDHC.
I will try and find s/w upgrades.
I have not seen any other similiar types of units so I have nothing to really compare to.
