Sharp 37"1080p HDTV
Have a 40" Sony 1080P which I love. Needed a 37" to fit in my wall unit. Sony doesn't make a 37" in this resolution nor do many other companies. The Sharp TV has an excellent picture. Do to lack of compitition in 37" 1080p sets you can probable find larger sets for about the same price as this one. Some sales people say that in smaller sets 720P & 1080P give similar picture quality. I don't believe this although Sat & cable now only have 1080i signals.

Works perfectly!!
TV is great, only complaint is I was invoiced an additonal billing of $22, over and above the shipping fees in the payment, by UPS? Never had that happen before.

Worth it if you have your own sound system
I bought this tv primarily to be used with my PS3. The picture is amazing, was basically everything I was hoping it would be. The sound coming out of it can get pretty bad though and I am no audiophile. It does have simulated surround sound which is kind of neat, but when it gets loud it sometimes sounds like there is static.
I use high quality headphones when gaming to compensate for the speakers, although there is no headphone jack in the tv. I had to buy a HOSA CFR-210 Stereo Female Mini to 2 RCA Male Plugs ? 10 Feet cable and hook it up that way.
One thing I should add, I use my PS3 for playing dvd movies. I don't know if it is the tv or the PS3, but when I play them the characters vocals are really low in sound. I have to watch with subtitles most of the time. I'm pretty sure its a problem with the settings in the PS3 though since when I watch normal tv it can get really loud.
For me it is worth it in the end though. I get many channels I never got before, sometimes the x rated stuff too :D.

Arrived DOA
Hopefully this is the exception rather than the rule, but my TV arrived in non-working condition. There were no outwards signs of damage, and cosmetically it looks fine, but it won't power on. Or rather it powers on for about 5 seconds and then shuts off with the green power LED on the front blinking.
I contacted Sharp support and they said they will have a local service company come to fix it, but it looks like that will take a week or more. Meanwhile I'm left looking at a black screen.
