Sharp Aquos LC37D62U 37" 1080p LCD HDTV

(5 out of 5) by Stephen B on Nov 7, 2007 (philadelphia PA USA)
While not an electronics afficianado we are very happy with our purchase.
Great picture with Cable HD Stations. We are using the digital TV Tuner not a cable box as this is a secondary TV in the bedroom and we just ran a cable from the wall jack to the TV. Can't get much easier to set up.
We are not using a home theater and sound is very good for a bedroom TV.

We are not using Blu-ray or HD DVD so we are not testing the picture to it's limits. The only down side(very minimal) is some shadowing during sports events which I am told is inherent in all LCD TV's. The blacks are great which I am told is a real test for LCD'c

SHARP - not just a brand name

(5 out of 5) by Alan Friedman on Jul 27, 2007 (Alexandria, VA)
I've had this for two months & couldn't be more pleased. The picture on shows broadcast in HD is crystal clear. It's a clear as if I were there in person. If and when DirecTV ever ups their signal to full 1080p, then supposedly it could get even "sharp"er, but really, that seems impossible as the signal now is in 1080i. As for DVDs, I have an older unit; certainly not an HD-DVD & that picture is very very crisp. Presumably a quality HDMI cable helps.

Best Value LCD

(5 out of 5) by T. Wells on Jan 28, 2008
I think this is one of the best value LCD televisions available. I think the Sony Bravia has the best picture, but it really goes up in price compared to the Sharp. I don't see the attraction to the Samsung products (other than the 52 inch LCD they have), and I think that the Sharp looks better than every LCD besides the Sony. I have blu-ray for the TV, and it looks magnificent. So get this TV, a blu-ray player, and Planet Earth on blu-ray and you will see the power the TV actually has.

Great TV

(5 out of 5) by Dr. SSS on Dec 11, 2007 (NV)
The picture is very clear. I can see the print without my glasses. I am glad it has the 1080 pixels which is superior to the 760 version. The TV arrived sooner than expected. It is easy to put together and is light in weight. I chose the Sharp Aquos over the Sony XBR for 3 reasons. Sony didn't have a 37-inch size and Consumer Reports rated the Sony and the Sharp equally. The Sharp is less expensive for the same picture quality.

This screen is an awsome picture! Hooked up my Xbox 360 and have nothing but great things to say. Picture quality is amazing especially for the price. Sharp is leading in High-Def screens and this TV proves it. Want the 1080p with out the heavy price this TV is it!!!
