This TV is the best!!!

(5 out of 5) by ATC man on May 1, 2007 (North Carolina)
This TV is fantastic!! Living in Charlotte, NC I get a good number of free HD stations over the air with a small amplified indoor antenna. The picture is incredible! This is a great TV and for the money it can't be beat. 37 inches is a little small for a living room, but my couch is in the middle of the room and no more than about 10-12 feet away from the TV and it is about the perfect size. If you are sitting any further than that, you will probably want a bigger set, like the LC42D62U or bigger. Yes, the Sony looks very slightly better, but it is much more expensive. So, save some cash, buy the Sharp and a PS3, you won't be disappointed.

Also arrived DOA

(1 out of 5) by J. Sen on Apr 8, 2008
As in the cases of some of the other one star reviews listed here, our TV arrived and didn't work. Instead of simply exchanging the TV for a new, working one or quickly sending someone to our home to fix it, Sharp has dragged us through weeks of their "standard reaction" to this situation. That included me personally driving the TV to a service provider. I have never experienced such poor customer service, especially on a $1000.00 item. When I contacted our local service repair company to get a status update today they told me they had requested the needed parts last week, but that Sharp has shipped them UPS ground. This will easily push us into a fifth or sixth week of waiting for the brand new TV we purchased over one month ago and paid extra to have shipped in two days. Sharp obviously has no desire to make their customers happy. This will without a doubt be the last Sharp product we purchase. We have been happy Amazon customer for many years, but our advice to anyone considering this TV is to pay extra and buy it at Best Buy. Then at least if it doesn't work you can simply exchange it for one that does.

good buy

(4 out of 5) by James B. Pruett on Feb 18, 2008
Many people have written reviews complaining about popping noises coming from the speakers. My set right out of the box had this problem. I found out it was not the TV. It was the Comcast cable box. Apparently the HDMI port on the cable box was not functioning. A new cable box fixed the problem. Aside from that, great TV. We love the size and picture quality.

Too Bad-- Sound is not loud enough

(4 out of 5) by Robert STJACQUES on Aug 28, 2007 (New Hampshire)
This tv is very nice and the picture is just great!
But----- the sound cannot go high enough and have tried other same model with the sound the same. If you want to add your Sound System to the tv that would be fine.
But should not have to do that if you just want to watch a tv program.
Sorry---- its a real nice TV but that is the only thing- sound.

Best of the lot

(5 out of 5) by James Drummond on Dec 4, 2007 (Nevada)
We returned a Toshiba 37" because we just could not get a decent picture. Thought it might be our cable or other sources. The Sharp was a revelation. Vastly superior color, great reception and with a HD DVD the picture is nearly 3D. We may have paid more than planned, $1,299.00 vs. $899.00 for the Toshiba but after several weeks of viewing feel the Sharp was worth the extra money.
