The perfect small HDTV

(5 out of 5) by L. Freed on Apr 26, 2007 (Sarasota, FL USA)
I have way too many TVs in my home (including two other Samsungs) but I needed a small TV for the guest bedroom. Our cable provider provides all of the local TV channels (including all of the HDTV channels) on the basic cable, in the clear -- without a set-top box. The catch, of course, is that you need a TV with a built-in ATSC tuner to recieve those channels. This is one of the few small TVs I've seen with ATSC, although most will have it by the end of the year.

Setup is incredibly easy - plug in the power, connect the antenna (or cable) and let the TV do its thing. My Samsung found all of the available channels and added them to its memory in about 10 minutes.

I am also impressed with this TV's flexibility -- it can accept just about any type of input signal, including HDMI (3! inputs), Component, and good old composite video.

Picture quality is very good, and the built-in speakers are surprisingly good. I also like Samsung's new all-white case design. I have the older 23" Samsung (also in white) in my office, and this set is much nicer looking.

Vanity Realized

(4 out of 5) by Senjiwe Al-Muhadinis on Sep 21, 2007 (San Francisco, CA USA)
Okay, I admit that this buy was motivated by my desire to have a kitchen TV to match my new all white appliances (the old tv was gun metal). And it looks beautiful! I uncrated it upside down, didn't realize it, didn't see the manual, but I put the stand on, plugged the cords in, put batteries in the remote, turned it on and wa-la! away it went, searched all channels, deleted the scrambled ones, I figured out how to set the time zone and time. I had it search for both air and cable channels and all the HD channels popped and come in without the benefit of rabbit ears! All this with only "basic" cable. Using the menu, I turned off the chimes and the light that is set in the bottom center of the panels. Applause and prompts to Samsung. I did not give it all stars as the viewing angle on the stand is not as wide as one would need for working in the kitchen (moving), and from the height of a tall refridgerator (sitting at the table).

Style to Spare

(5 out of 5) by Gary J. Miller on Jun 26, 2007
Simply put, it looks awesome on or off. The picture quality on HD channels is very good. There is some noise on standard TV, but it is probably because of the stupid cable in my room. Anyone looking to buy this to have their Wii display in 480p and widescreen should look no further. It matches the console perfectly! Great investment for the future too with the HDMI inputs and ASTC tuner.

PS- To the other guy that said it makes the beeping sound when you turn it on: you can use the remote to avoid the sound! Just so you know...

Great first HDTV

(5 out of 5) by Jonathan on Oct 29, 2007
This is a great HDTV. The specs are very impressive, and I love all the inputs on the back. The inputs were one of the best selling points for me. For a HDTV of this size, I was surpised to see the 2x HDMI, 2x Coax, 2x Component, Digital Audio Optical Out, as well as Analog Audio Out! That combined with a brand name like Samsung, a stylish design, and a great price from Amazon (over $100 bucks cheaper than at my local Best Buy!) this HDTV was a no brainer. It matches my Apple products very well and also matches my recently purchased Logitech Z-4I white 2.1 speakers perfectly.

The only cons I have about this TV are, the speakers are rather weak. They are fine for casual TV viewing, but whenever you have a few people over and things get to be a little loud, it is at times difficult to hear. This is where the beauty of the Digital Audio Optical Output and the Analog Audio Outputs come into play. You can hook this up to any kind of speakers you want giving you great sound. Unlike a lot (but not all) of Vizio HDTVs around this size, that don't have any type of Audio output.

To all the reviewers who keep complaining about the boot up and shut down chime, you can turn it off in the menu system. This HDTV is packed full of features and options, I love it and think it's a great HDTV.

Works Great

(5 out of 5) by H. Gerke on May 21, 2007
After looking around the Internet, and viewing the actual product at a local store, I decided to purchase this TV for use in our kitchen. The white finish if great there, and the picture and sound are fantastic. The Non-HDTV picture is pretty good, and it even finds the HDTV Channels for the 3 major networks, Fox, and PBS off of my extended cable service, without me being setup to get cable HDTV. I also tried using it as a PC monitor on my laptop and it worked pretty good.
