Perfect PCI Wifi Card, Good for Linux

(5 out of 5) by aryonoco on Feb 28, 2009 (Melbourne, VIC, Australia)
Works out of the box with Linux (Tested with Ubuntu 8.10) with WEP (didn't test WPA2 but I've read that that also works out of the box). The signal strength reading from the Atheros chipset is wrong, but the signal itself is very strong, and both download and upload rates were top notch. The computer is located one level above the wifi base station, and still the signal is awesome and the antena does a wonderful job of receiving good signal. Excellent all-round product, excellent price!

Worked right out of the box with Vista!

The Atheros chipset is supported with built in drivers in Vista and it works with XP too. It was exactly what I wanted and worked great right out of the box!

Great PCI wireless card

(5 out of 5) by Dr. J. A. Metcalf on Nov 17, 2008 (Natchitoches, LA USA)
This was recommended for use with Linux OS and works great as suggested. I'm using UBUNTU Linux and connected to my wireless router as soon as the computer booted without any tweaking. It has also speeded up transfer rates.

Linksys wireless PCI Card

(4 out of 5) by Retired Lt on Oct 30, 2008 (New York)
Installation was quite easy the software included works great....pretty straight forward. I've had no problems surfing the internet or connecting to other computers on my network, also using this same card. I recommend it highly. Much better then having ethernet cables running all over the place.
