MULTI REGION CODEFREE DVD PLAYER WITH DivX. PLAYS PAL/NTSC DVDS

Sep 17, 2007 - By Tepavicharov (NJ United States)

Make it Region free you will not regretted:

I bought two of these and was disappointed to find they were both Region 1 only...until I did this:

1. Make sure there is no disc in the player.
2. Turn power off and on again.
3. Open the tray.
4. On the remote, hit 9879 and then 0. This changes unit to Region 0, meaning it'll play all regions.
5. Hit OK on the remote.
6. The screen will display a massage

Good Deal - With Some Work

Aug 10, 2007 - By D. Oconnell (Lindenhurst, New York United States)

I bought this as a multi region unit to play UK dvd's.
The machine is locked to region 1 so and after calling Phillips I was told they this ONLY applies in the US. If you buy it in Canada it is unlocked to all regions.

2 minutes with Google and a simple code entry on the remote and it is now unlocked. NOW its a great deal. No complaints at all apart from the locking silliness.

Great player

Jun 24, 2007 - By K. Minger (Coral Gables, FL United States)

I needed a dvd player for the back room to enjoy movies from blockbuster on.. This player works great, even if the dvds aren't up to par.. The player runs with no skips and a great picture..

Great DivX/Xvid Playback

Jul 7, 2007 - By Piso Mojado (California)

I use this unit purely for watching DivX/Xvid AVI files burned onto CD-R media. Sound and video playback is flawless, and it handles subtitles very nicely as long as you follow the directions in the manual. I love the small size too.

garbage - don't buy

Aug 8, 2007 - By visible (NJ United States)

Remote broke after 6 weeks. Player stopped working after 8 weeks. Philips will replace unit under warranty only if I pay to ship it back. A useless product and warranty.
