I own several Pelican cases. When I saw the options for cases for my MacBook, I knew that this case would be just what I needed.
The MacBook 13.3" fits snugly inside the case. The case says 13" notebooks, but the extra width of the MacBook is accepted. The case is shipped with small foam large and small spacers. I used the large spacers but placed them inside the top lid of the case so that the notebook screen wouldn't be opened when I opened the Pelican.
I don't have any worries now when I toss my notebook into a backpack and travel. I felt uneasy about having to take my notebook out of my Pelican 1510 carry-on case when gate-checking my carry-on luggage for small regional jets.
excellent
Great case, hard to open, but that's the way it's supposed to be! haha. i use it for my new macbook 13inch, excellent, i think they should promote it this way... first assignment was last week.

While i was running around the mountains with the racers, the puter was in the case riding at full speed in a rugged 4x4. dirt roads in costa rica are tough!
if you're planning on getting a 13 inch mackbook, go for it, it's worth every single cent!
two bits though: 1. i whish the lid would open more, it only opens to a 90degree position and this does not allow for you to tilt the screen back a bit, like us tall people are used to doing. 2. it would be great if the lid would stay in place, instead of it being so loose that it closes by itself.
cheers
Andres.
Exellent product
This product is perfect for the dell m1330 but buy it with out the foam.
The Best Way to Transport Your Macbook
I received my Pelican 1080 this morning. As I fly often, I have been looking for a safe way to transport my 13" Macbook. I think I have found it.
This thing is solid and extremely well made. It is also as small as can be and still hold the Macbook.
My case came with the pluckable foam which cannot be used, as the computer is too large. What I did was place the Macbook in the empty Pelican case, using only the thin bottom foam liner. I then slid the Macbook all the way to the front of case. I tore off one row of the plucking foam cubes and placed it at the rear of the case. The Macbook now is totally secure, yet can be removed easily from the case. The egg crate type top foam holds everything in a totally secure fashion.
Because the case is new, the locking clip fits very tightly and is somewhat difficult to open ....So what I did was place the computer into the case, locked the case, then left the whole thing alone for 5 hours. This "broke in" the egg crate foam a bit, allowing the clip to open far easier than before.
The only complaint that I have (and it is minor) is that there is no carrying handle on the case, forcing me to carry the unit under my arm. A suitcase type "handle" would have been nice. Perhaps someone who reads this review can tell me if security at airports will make me open the case, or will they "accept" this as a notebook without further inspection.
