Most Helpful First | Newest FirstWell-made; does the job; light-weight and portable
I've only had it for a few days so far, but it works just fine with my old Mac laptop and my iPod wall charger. It feels well-made - I might end up buying a second one.
I debated between this and the IncipioBud, and I chose this because it has a little bit of cabling, which gives it some flexibility that the IncipioBud does not have. If it gets bumped, there's a bit better chance that nothing will snap off than with a completely solid part (as with the IncipioBud). I have nothing against the IncipioBud - the cabling is just what gave this product an advantage in my mind. The only disadvantage is that it's a bit more expensive than the IncipioBud, but overall, Carrot Idea did a good job with this one.
Perfect companion for my iPod shuffle
The standard iPod shuffle USB cable is a bit too bulky for me. I was looking for something more mobile and elegant. Researched a dozen other alternatives, but this is the only one that allowed me to plug my iPod shuffle into a tightly confined USB hub. The other solutions would have meant I would have to sacrifice a neighboring USB port just to accommodate the sheer size of the iPod shuffle. So I decided to get this instead.
The cable quality on this is excellent. It's construction feels like it's made by Apple itself!
Good for use with skins
If you have a silicone skin on your iPod, the skin will prevent proper plugging up to the supplied dock, and the makes it hard for the square hard plug adapter to connect without pushing. The headphone plug on the end of this is small enough in diameter to miss the silicone and connects easily. If you like the silicone skins, this item is very handy.
Great replacement for your dock!
I was rather surprised when the dock that came with my iPod shuffle broke on me. Even more surprised when I saw that Apple wanted $29.95 to replace it. Heck, that's almost half of what the Shuffle cost to begin with. And if the first one broke so easy I don't want to take a chance.
So I surfed around and saw this handy dandy thing. I got it pretty quick and it works like a charm! And what's better, you can carry this around with you much easier than the Apple dock and it's not going to die on me.
Great product!
Save-A-Port
I don't know about ye'all, but I'm always running out those USB ports. Of course, having my beloved Shuffle pluged into one, and blocking the other port doesn't help the matter. Whoever it is that manufactured this handy-dandy cable read my mind!!! Thank you!!!!!
