Hot little card in no-man's land.

Mar 16, 2007 - By tom L. -> (one world is enuf)

This little Airpace wi-fi card 1x slot device is hot. It installs like a breeze, & can fill a function as well as an overlooked slot. Software installs straight away, and as usu., you must tell windows to 'Continue anyway' when it tells u that the device doesn't meet MS recognized standards. Abit makes the card & makes a good mobo too. The card flys along, and beats a std pci wireless card on speed, while using this as yet unrecognized little PCIe 1x slot. Great card.

Now I'm finally free from using 32-bit PCI cards...

Oct 6, 2007 - By Gerard (California, USA)

Installation was a breeze. Windows Vista Ultimate immediately detected the hardware and I just needed to insert the installation cd to complete the process of installing the drivers for the wireless NIC. Now I'm completely free of using regular pci cards and I'm looking forward to installing the 64-bit drivers. I'll update my review when I finally get around to doing that.

Edit 10/8/2007: Just installed Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition on my computer. There was a problem trying to install the wireless drivers since they are "unsigned", but there was a workaround and I was able to get the drivers properly installed. The wireless NIC works great with Vista 64-bit.

Works great once you find the right driver

May 8, 2008 - By A. Torgerson (Rolla, MO)

This card was a breeze to install on my fiancee's 64bit vista machine, but for those who have a problem installing the current drivers after using the installation CD, here is what worked for me solution. Under "Device Manager", right click on your card under "Network adapters" and click "Updade Drivers". From there, manually browse in your computer to have it search under your "System32" folder. This fixed my problem and it has been working great ever since.

Nice little thing!

May 11, 2007 - By J. Wong (CA USA)

This PCI-E network card solved my issues with PCI slots. Since I do not have enough PCI slots on my motherboard to host an extra PCI WiFi card this PCIE wifi card comes in handy. It fits on the little PCI-E slot and freeed up one of my PCI slot.

Great product fits in Dell XPS slim low profile

Oct 27, 2007 - By D. Peluzzo

Great product, Works 100%, Excellent design. Great price.

Had been previously stuck trying several flakey USB wireless adapters for a Dell XPS slim line PC which had no internal wireless option.

Then I found this Abit Airspace 1/2 height (with 1/2 height bracket)card that fits in the PCIe 1X slot (very strange looking very short special card slot) of the Dell.

PC now works better with full wireless power and the weighted base antenna is attractive sitting on top of the PC now.
