periodically disconnects and reconnects

(2 out of 5) by Andrew on Aug 11, 2008 (NJ United States)
At first when I got this USB hub, it seemed to work fine. But after a while, I noticed once in a while it would disconnect and reconnect all of the attached peripherals. This is not that bad for mice and keyboards, but is catastrophic for external hard drives, which is what I was using it for. Maybe it's just that I got a defective unit, but I would not buy this one again.

Hi Speed USB Hub

(5 out of 5) by Hamil Amin on Aug 23, 2007
this product does what i wanted it to do. i bought this product to clear up wire space. my desk is less cluttered and more organized b/c of this product. Should be cheaper though as it only does one simple function.

Good Product, but don't buy it from vendor: ComputerBrain "D-"

(3 out of 5) by A. Ryan on Jul 26, 2007 (Tennessee)
This product works great at a reasonable price. I was a bit surprised by just how short the connecting usb cable is. After litterally prying out the plug from the case with some other tool (as it is stuck in there tight--happened on both of them I purchased), the entire plug is maybe 3 inches. So, this is definitely for a Laptop device or somewhere that you will have easy access to it like a front USB port on a desktop system.

My only problem with this product was the lousy service and customer service received from the vendor, Computer Brain. They waited 5 days after ordering (in-stock) before shipping. It took 11 days from the time I ordered for the product to arrive. I emailed their customer support to ask about the delay and received no response. A week later I got a call to please call them. I called, no one answered. I called the next morning and the person said "I don't know why we called you. the person you want to speak with is here on Mondays, please call back then". The customer support was an absolute joke.

So, if you have other options and even if it costs a few bucks more, I'd purchase it elsewhere. If you don't, be prepared to pay excessive shipping for snail like service. Just my opinion of course.

Case fell apart 5 minutes after I got it.

I got what I paid for.

Packing container was also damaged in shipment. UPS....

Works with iPhone!

This is the ONLY travel-size USB hub I've ever found that can both power a portable external hard drive AND sync/power an iphone at the same time - with my Macbook Air, that is.
