Belkin USB

(1 out of 5) by R. Gibb on Nov 27, 2009
The product did not work on my Windows Millenium (it was also difficult to install, being somewhat too large to fit in the USB port with the nearby items in the adjacent USB ports, I had to jam it in). It then failed to install, asking for a Windows Millenium file that it could not find. Phone support from Belkin was useless.

Best Value for the Money

(5 out of 5) by Mr. Ramesh K. Gopalakrishnan on Nov 26, 2009 (New York, USA)
I bought this product for a friend of mine, because she had moved to a house which only offered Wireless and no wired internet ports available.

She was not too computer savvy, so I had to just be on phone with her and to my suprise it installed within minutes with the utility provided and she has been chugging away happily since without any issues.

I just told her to be careful with the protrusion from the USB port, suggested that she buy an extension and put it on top of her desktop computer and that was it.

Great product and works better than several other expensive products i have bought for friends and relatives over the years.

Love this thing

The only problem i had with it was the size of it. it blocked out one of my other usb ports on my computer. got around that particular problem with a simple usb extension cable. ^-^ Other then that, it works great even without the utility it comes with. just plug in and your off and running. absolutely amazing. would tell anyone who wants a simple to use, easy wireless usb adapter to pick this up for the price.

Linux out of the box!

(5 out of 5) by J. A. Branch on Nov 1, 2009 (North Aurora, IL USA)
Took a chance finding something that would work with my Ubuntu Linux installation.
Took this unit out of the box, plugged it into my USB port and - BINGO!! I had a nice, strong wireless connection! I didn't have to do a thing!! Continues to function well - no complaints at all! Highly recommended,

Good upgrade for old desktop

(4 out of 5) by Fervently Web on Oct 30, 2009 (Midwest, USA)
Good way to get an old desktop with Windows XP onto the home Wi fi network. Don't need to have the wireless modem physically near the desktop and use an ethernet cable to connect the two. Our old desktop doesn't get used that often - but when we do need to use it, the wireless connection is handy.

Minor issues:

Each time the device is plugged in the device seems to connect and disconnect a couple of times to the network before finally settling into a stable connection. Seems to happen within a few seconds and is not a big deal.

Form factor: slightly bigger than a USB Zip drive - sticks out just a little bit more.
