Easy to install & even got it to work on Vista!

Given the low price, I was surprised that it was easy to install and even worked fine on Vista (although I had to call the free support number because on Vista, the included software program to find and connect to the router doesn't work - you just have to go to the Windows Start Button and do it through "Connect To"). Although the manufacturer doesn't state that it's made for Vista, it seems to work fine for me.

ohhh i *like* it

I've got a toshiba laptop where my internal wifi card failed. I'd gotten a netgear usb card that i'd been using.

I'm using the Belkin now. I primarily use Linux. Ubuntu picked up the card right away. While the Netgear usb card regularly lost the connection, the Belkin is awesome! It's stable. It's *fast*. It works flawlessly in Ubuntu. Did I mention that it's fast? Pages load in a fraction of the time the Netgear loaded them.

So far, it's been the best $27 I"ve spent in a while.

Works great!

I've had this adapter for several years now and I've been very happy with it. I've used it in an old IBM thinkpad laptop to add wireless capability to it. I've also used it with my wife's computer in our living room so we can stream HD videos over the internet, and it exceeded my expectations! We've watched entire episodes of TV shows streaming in HD without any pausing or stuttering, and I've played Massively Multiplayer games over this connection as well without any issues or lag.

As a long time user of this adapter, I give it 5 stars for performance, reliability, cost, and ease of use.

Belkin USB

(1 out of 5) by R. Gibb on Nov 27, 2009
The product did not work on my Windows Millenium (it was also difficult to install, being somewhat too large to fit in the USB port with the nearby items in the adjacent USB ports, I had to jam it in). It then failed to install, asking for a Windows Millenium file that it could not find. Phone support from Belkin was useless.

Best Value for the Money

I bought this product for a friend of mine, because she had moved to a house which only offered Wireless and no wired internet ports available.

She was not too computer savvy, so I had to just be on phone with her and to my suprise it installed within minutes with the utility provided and she has been chugging away happily since without any issues.

I just told her to be careful with the protrusion from the USB port, suggested that she buy an extension and put it on top of her desktop computer and that was it.

Great product and works better than several other expensive products i have bought for friends and relatives over the years.
