The software that comes with this adapter caused my computer to freeze after 10-15 minutes.

You get what you pay for....

This wireless adapter isn't horrible, but it isn't terrific either. I do not know if it had to do with my wireless Comcast connection (which everyone knows is awesome quality) or with the usb adapter, but I was losing signal every 2-5 minutes and having to reboot my labtop. On top of that, this adapter is somewhat flimsy. It is so long that it is hard not to have it rest against something when on the couch or in bed and this thing has become slightly bent. Perhaps due to this, the whole case came apart into pieces, after a week of having it, and exposed the microchip inside. I had to put it all back together and so far it has successfully stayed that way.

All of that being said, within the past week the USB adapter hasn't been working all that badly. I have been using it on a level surface and have been trying not to strain my bandwidth usage.

I think with a pricier product you will not have as much hassle, but if you casually use your labtop on level surfaces then this product is satisfactory.

OK, slightly dissapointed

(3 out of 5) by Jack Sparrow on Jul 26, 2008 (Los Angeles)
After reading reviews this and other wireless adapters, I decided to go with this one. The reviews are true enough, I installed then connected the adapter and it connected to the network. My problem is that I have had many disconnections with the internet. I usually just wait a couple of seconds and click retry and it works fine. But this'll happened many times over a sitting. It makes it hard to stay connected to AIM and surf important sites.

Notebook: HP pavilion dv2000, downgraded to XP, a little over a year old

Pros: Cheap (24.99), works
Cons: frequent disconnections, very annoying

To be fair, I've only used this a couple of hours, I'll update if anything changes.
