It should be noted...

(4 out of 5) by Michael Jackson on Mar 28, 2007 (Ca United States)
The cable is more or less a must-have. It only works with units that have iPod circuitry built in, and those units are more or less identical to the units below them besides the iPod control. So why get a unit that needs this cable if you're not going to use the iPod functionality? Exactly.

Anyway, the cable itself is made of a nice, high quality rubber and connects VERY easily to the corresponding port on the back of your Pioneer head unit.

It should be noted, however, that like other Pioneer iPod connectors which allow control through the head unit, the iPod's controls are locked out while it is connected. I was hoping this wasn't the case with this cable and our DEH-P4900IB, but it was... hence only 4 stars.

Otherwise, it's great. All song information and control is sent to the head unit as advertised.

Great cable...but not for iPhone.

(5 out of 5) by Julio Cesar Giraldo on Dec 7, 2007
This interface cable works great with the iPod but not so great with the iPhone...in fact, not at all. When the iPhone is connected, the phone does not charge and you will receive an error on your head unit's display. The phone will then ask if you want to switch to airplane mode then play only the last album in your library with no option to control the music.

seriously a must have

ever since installing this, i've enjoyed driving 10x as much. i honestly can't live without it. i no longer have to take out the navi cd just to listen to music. i used to burn cd's with 18 tracks. now i have 18gb of music to choose from. you can also watch ipod videos with this cable. i can't see myself ever going back to cd's.

Works well with my iPhone 3G, but not perfect

(4 out of 5) by B. Crosier on Oct 12, 2008 (St. Louis)
This cable was a great addition to my AVH-P4000DVD. Not only does it allow me to play music from my iPhone, but also videos! I had to purchase a separate adapter though to get it to charge the phone.

This thing is worthless

(2 out of 5) by D. Cambria on Nov 19, 2008 (Southern Calif. desert)
I purchased the CD-i200 to interface my ipod CLASSIC to the AVIC-N4 HU in my car. After I installed it and plugged in my ipod I got an error message on screen. Not being able to find the error code given in either owners manual, I called Pioneer customer (non)support. I was told the code meant that particular ipod was incompatible with the N4. I then asked which ipods do work with this interface? I was told MOST GEN 3 & 4 ipods will work. When I asked if he could be a little more specific, he got testy with me and hung up. I have since been able to learn that the N4 is also incompatible with the ipod touch. Which ipods will work with this item. I don't know. So if you have an N4 and an ipod, you better make sure that your ipod will work BEFORE you purchase this item. In my opinion it's worthless without that information. If you don't know, don't expect any help form Pioneer.
