not as good as expected
received these phones about 3 weeks ago and already have had problems with them. they do not hold a charge as stated they barely hold a charge as long as a regular cordless phone and by no means for 17 hours of talk time, maybe 2. the reception on one of the phones is marred by a constant buzz in the background making it barely able to use. when i go to the panasonic website to troubleshoot there is nowhere to troubleshoot as stated in the handbook. so you are left calling panasonic. so good luck with yours.

Great Phone with nice features
During the first day or two of use you may experience some static on the handsets. We were about to pack up the phones and return them, then it stopped? Maybe just the batteries adjusting or something.
At any rate -- love the phones now.
Should note that you can copy phone book entries from one handset to another. Each handset can have a different ring. Itercom feature may alleviate yelling across the house forever :)

Decent, not great
I ordered these phones because they were a reasonable price compared to what I'd seen and they were the latest technology (dect 6.0) and a decent brand name. According to everything I'd read, these were supposed to have the clearest signals, no static, no interference, etc. So, I was a little disappointed when I plugged the phones in and got static SO BAD that I couldn't even hear the person on the other end. I thought it was because I was too close to an "electrical appliance" which it says can be a problem, so I moved the base unit as far away from all electrical appliances as possible which, really, was just the microwave but I still got major static. I'm a little annoyed at that given that 1st floor phone jacks are, after all, almost always in the kitchen and if 5 feet away from a microwave isn't far enough to reduce static then that makes it a pretty worthless product in my eyes.
Anyway, I was going to return them but decided instead to move the base unit upstairs to see if that made a difference. It did. Now the static is ALMOST gone and the phones are usable. I'd return them but didn't really feel like dealing with shipping them back and what not. I just really needed phones.
UPDATE: Have owned the phone now for 2 years...still having problems with static but have two additional issues.
1 - first floor handset flashes constantly that there's a new voicemail (and it says "new voicemail" on the screen) when there's not
2 - sometimes when the phone is ringing, only the upstairs handset rings and the first floor handset does nothing...no ringing, no caller ID, nothing.
I'm currently shopping for new phones.

Perfect clarity, but doesn't recognize AT&T CallNotes messages
I'm very happy with this phone. I love the address book feature. It lets you add numbers from your caller id list. You can even change the caller id name (ex. WIRELESS CALLER to DOE, JOHN) so the next time that person calls it will list the caller's name stored in the address book. Each handset has it's own address book, but you can easily "send" address book entries from one handset to another. Also, we use the phones upstairs and downstairs so the walkie talkie feature is very useful....my kids love it.
I use AT&T's CallNotes for may answering service so I don't use the built-in answer machine. The user's guide says the phone supports phone company message services and will indigate when you have messages, but it doesn't work for me. Oh well, nobody's perfect and I don't like to give perfect scores anyways.

Very good cordless phone
I bought this cordless phone set to replace another Panasonic 5.8 Ghz cordless phone. I need more than two handsets but my old one was not expandable. the order was placed with Amazon.
The KX-TG1033S is a very nice phone. the voice is very clear, handsets are light in weight, good ergonomics with big buttons and the base station is small in footprint; expandable to a total of six handsets is also very nice.
It is not water-resistant, though I am not sure if water-resistant is that important for a phone.
The use of rechargeable AAA size battery instead of proprietary battery is a major improvement. The menu system is more complex and less friendly than my older phone, therefore I rated it as a 4 star product. speaker volume is a little lower, but handset volume is much better than my older phone.
The phone was shipped by Beach Camera. The ordering process through Amazon is very simple and smooth. Beach camera did keep me updated on order confirmation and product shipping. Product came in exactly a week after I placed my order. Overall a nice experience.
Price is fair. I highly recommends this product and buying it from Amazon.
