Excellent Phone

(4 out of 5) by Anil Gogate on Aug 12, 2007 (India)
I purchase this phone a week back and very happy with it. Voice clarity is superb and manual is nicely written. Four handsets makes it vrey convinient to pick up the nearest phone. Some suggestions - Panasonic can add few more tones ( Like in cell phone ) so that they can be assigned to different incoming numbers. Also you cannot make out how many messages you have received. Overall I am very satisfied with this phone.

pathetic short range

(3 out of 5) by Ann Chu on Aug 15, 2007 (Philippines)
This is a good phone with very good voice clarity, if not for the range.

Base unit in our living room the range can't even reach my bedroom which is in the 2nd floor or our house, what's the use of a cordless phone if it can't even reach my bedroom?

Anybody can recommend a better unit that has better range?

One odd problem

(4 out of 5) by anonymous on Jan 5, 2008
This phone is great for our house: four floors, mother-in-law in the basement, too many stairs to run up and down all the time. We can page each other using the intercom feature, or transfer calls to the proper person. We don't actually need to transfer calls that often, as the voice caller ID usually lets us know whether to pick up or not. (I didn't think we'd be using this feature, but after realizing how helpful it was we never turned it off.) It is true that you can only page ALL the phones if you are at the base unit.

Our base unit is in the basement and has no difficulty reaching the attic.

One strange problem we've been having: occasionally one of the handsets just stops working. No buttons function, no light when on the charger. By taking the battery out and putting it back in, the handset started working again, but the battery was quite warm when I did this. This can't be good for the rechargeable batteries. It has happened now with two different handsets. You might want to buy this phone at a local store, so that you can return it if necessary.

Nice features.

(4 out of 5) by S. Collins on Dec 26, 2007 (Chicagoland)
We especially like the speakerphone feature. We could all chat together over the holidays, rather than have to run to different rooms to pick up the extensions. The intercom is also a neat feature. A great way to call the kids for dinner, or if you have to ask a question. We like the voice caller ID. I can ignore the phone and let the kids pick up when their friends call.
