great value for the price

I've heard many recommendations from my audiophile friends for a good set of speakers keeping in mind surround upgrade for the future. P162 were one of them - work wonderfully. Crisp sound, very nice mids, overall a great value for the price.

Dynamite for the money

(5 out of 5) by Iowadad on Mar 2, 2009 (Iowa City)
These are big for bookshelf speakers and they sound good for the price. (Paid eighty five per speaker) The 6 1/2 inch drivers provide a decent amount of bass and they can do it with a surpringly low amount of power. I drove these for months with a stereo amp that pushes no more than 25 watts per channel. While they aren't screaming loud that way, as a horn-loaded speaker might be, they were loud enough to fill a fairly large room with warm, detailed sound at a pretty wide range of volume.

Eventually, I added a powered subwoofer to push some bass and free up wattage for the P162s and now they sound even better.

I built a fairly inexpensive system for music that sounds surprisingly good. I needed a speaker that didn't cost much but could do justice to a nice sounding, mid to low powered amp. The p162 did not let me down.

Great Product

For the price, the P-162's in the infinity series do have a distinctly better sound than the p-152's and the p-142's............I would recomend if the price difference was right.

Great sound

These are excellent speakers. The sound is smooth and realistic. The bass projects without being boomy or distorted. They are comparable to much more expensive products. I highly recommend them.

I have a pair of these I recently acquired as replacement speakers and I could not be any more pleased with the Infinity Primus Series 162 Speakers. Dimenstrates a good quality sound.
