Item Didn't Work, Horrible Customer Service

May 20, 2008 - By R. Gray (Maryland)

This item worked well for a couple of weeks before the AUDIO OUT receptacle stopped producing a signal. The radio still received power, and the radio received a signal from the antenna, and the audio cable worked when tested with other devices. I returned the cradle to Audiovox since the source of the problem is apparently the AUDIO OUT receptacle on that component. I quickly received a cradle back from Audiovox (probably the same unit that I sent to them, but I didn't note the serial number). Once again, the radio received power and a good signal, but no AUDIO OUT signal was produced from the cradle. I sent the entire kit back to Audiovox and after waiting for a couple of weeks, I called to ask about the status. Right off the bat, I received a lecture that they wouldn't continue to send me new components since their testing showed that the item worked. I was told that my radio could be the problem and that any future returns should include my radio in order to fully test the problem. The person I spoke with couldn't A) confirm that their testing included the AUDIO OUT receptacle, and B) explain how it is that my potentially flawed radio works fine when using other cradles. I was holding off on reviewing this product until I received this second replacement, thinking that I will ultimately receive a unit that I'm happy with. After this recent customer service experience, I wish I hadn't made this purchase.

Simple Unit. Does What Its Supposed To.

Mar 20, 2008 - By J. Jennings (Memphis, TN)

I ordered this unit for my xpress rc and it does what its supposed to. It comes with everything needed to get this unit hooked up to your home stereo (except a remote which I understand b/c the xm units come with a remote) very somple to hook up and it sounds great once everything gets hooked up. also the antennae is weatherproof. Other than that not a whole lot to say about this unit, lol.

Yay! Hooked up to XM and rockin out!

Dec 23, 2007 - By Mean ~n~ Bitter (Cleveland, Ohio USA)

So, i wasn't exactly thrilled when i purchased this. Only because i had received a free XM radio from another site i participate in, and i was told that i was getting the roady.

Well i decided that i would stick with what i had won and i would buy the home adapter for use with my tv. I purchased this shortly after and hooked it up. I am very happy that i did.

Pros - Small, not huge and clunky
- Sleek design
- Light weight!
- Fits on my tv top
Cons
- Limited mobility due to the antennae

Overall, im very happy i received the radio, and even happier that i bought the home kit. After Christmas i plan to buy a new receiver and a home kit setup so that my current receiver can be put into my car.

Worth the wxtra money

Dec 28, 2007 - By Miss Green (LAFAYETTE, LOUISIANA USA)

I wanted an XM radio for the longest time. I opted for the Audiovox Xpress RC model with the home dock. It was well worth the extra money I spent on the Xpress and the Home dock. Now I have XM at my disposal in the car and in my home. It's so easy to transfer from the home to the car. I LOVE IT!!!

Great addition for your XM Radio

Jan 28, 2008 - By Karl Koning (Billings, MT USA)

Works perfectly. The signal with this antenna seems stronger then the antenna that came with the radio. I have this unit at my desk at work, no where near a window, and it gets pretty good reception. I'm thinking about getting one for my house too.
