A Steal, Considering Your Other Options

Feb 19, 2007 - By William Cuthbertson

This is a small, nicely packaged set that includes 1 wall plug adapter, 1 car cigarette lighter adapter, and 1 Zune cable that connects your player to either of the adapters interchangeably. I find both plugs to work as advertised, providing a nice, quick charge, and adding the Zune cable (which, solo, can connect your Zune to your PC) is a nice touch, making this a worry-free one-stop power kit.

The AC adapter is a very small size, and great for tossing in your backpack or pocket for any length trip. (A bonus when compared to, say, the bulkier Apple AC adapter.)

What I find irritating and a little offensive is how the big 3 music player companies -- Microsoft, Apple, and SanDisk -- don't include a basic power adapters with their MP3 players. It's a lousy way to get a little bit more money from customers who probably agonized enough when they chose which player to purchase.

This DLO kit is a reasonably (and realistically) priced alternative to official Zune products that are all packaged separately. Zune currently offers a $20 Zune cable (standalone), a $30 AC adapter (without any Zune-to-Adapter connection cable), and a $25 car charger. So the DLO kit that puts all three devices in one box, for a third the price, is really the way to go. It works, it's compact, and it's inexpensive. But at least one external power adapter should have come with the player to begin with.

Nice combination

Feb 27, 2007 - By L. Johnson (Minnesota)

We are a two Zune household, so it is great to have a way to charge without using the computer. Haven't actually used the car charger, but I'm excited to be able to. Love the fact that the wall charger has the fold-in prongs, makes it easier to store. All in all, great product, reasonable price.

best value

May 2, 2007 - By T. Fleury (Dover, NH United States)

i shopped around a lot before actually purchasing this for a trip... best value out there since you get the car charger and the wall charger. Stupid that the Zune doesnt just come with a wall charger... how much would this cost Microsoft? $0.50 to produce?

Works well, no issues so far, and if you have the USB cable that you use to charge/sync your Zune, you can use that with this charger as well.

Sweet deal for the price.

DLO Power Kit for Microsoft Zune

Jul 12, 2007 - By Mark P. Naber (Lynden, WA)

DLO Power Kit delivers as advertised. Both the AC power transformer and the cigarette lighter adapter are both good quality and compact for easy travel. I would recommend getting an extra sync cable so you don't have to plug and unplug when swithing from car charger to AC adapter. This product is definitely a better alternative to purchasing Zune branded charging products. DLO Power Kit costs about one third the price of the zune brands. Two thumbs up!
