great unit

(5 out of 5) by Arnis Andersons on Apr 16, 2008 (Sylvania, OH)
This unit is really good. The digital characters are a little small to read for those with limited eyesight. Mechanicaly it works great. The best for the price out on the market.

skips

(1 out of 5) by Craig D. Mcclure on Jun 13, 2009
this was a bummer. the CD player skipped right out of the box. I took it in for service and learned that Yamaha does not authorize online sales and the warranty would not be honored.

Great Carousel Player

(5 out of 5) by The Wild Dude on Nov 12, 2009 (Albany, OR USA)
The player is one of the best carousel players I have ever owned. It recognizes and plays all my CD's without fail. I had trouble with my Onkyo CD player recognizing some of my CD's when I first put them in. This player plays them immediately and sounds good as well. I have only a couple of minor complaints. One is the CD Text feature is not available with most CD's. If this feature is important to you, beware. Second, the characters on the display are small and hard to see from a distance. Other then that the player is meeting my expectations.

My Onkyo CD player was 9 years old and I just bought a new Yamaha AV-Receiver with digital connection
possibilities.Sticking with Yamaha I bought the CDC-697 5-disk player. The sound is GREAT and my
Resceiver remote automatically detected the CD player

happy listener

(5 out of 5) by gadget momma on Sep 12, 2009 (WA)
It's not easy to find a multi-disk CD player anymore. We now have a blu-ray DVD player and it is single disk and won't play CD's so we needed something else for our CDs. This one works perfectly and plays random tracks with little switching noise or delay. We are very happy with it.
