This was my biggest electronics purchase I have ever made and I am soooo glad that I did. I bought this TV here on Amazon several months ago and have been a very happy camper ever since. I was a little worried about buying something this expensive over the internet but I know now that I made the right choice. Amazon is an excellent company with a good reputation and has excellent customer service. My order went through without a hitch. The TV arrived quickly and undamaged through the free white glove delivery option that was offered at the time of purchase. This TV is amazing. When watching high def content it is as though you are looking out of a window it is so realistic! In conclusion, I couldn't be happier with the purchase of this TV through Amazon or the quality of the TV itself. Go ahead! Take the leap, you'll be glad you did.

I ordered the BR2 on August 1st, shipped thru Vanns.
It arrived on the 6th, the driver helped me carry it from the truck to my living room. He waited until I opened the box checked the tv out before he left; He had one more delivery, but he understood & I appreciated it.
The set was a snap to set up, was watching tv in about 10 minutes.
I have a large window to the side and another large one in fron of the set on the opposite wall. I was impressed that the glare was almost non-existant. I just need to get better curtains, but it isn't really an issue. The picture from my cable was ok, but while the tv was searching channels it picked up about a dozen digital channels for some reason. The difference is night & day, DO NOT buy this if you can't get any HD/digital channels. The picture is amazing. I am still tinkering with some of the settings, I am also walking the fence on upgrading to HD cable or directtv, gotta decide soon. My son hooked up his XBOX360 and PS2, both have very clear, sharp pictures, also, the sound isn't really too bad from the sets speakers. I do have sound now run through my surround sound system, although it's time for a new one; probably around XMAS, also walking the fence on HD-DVD or BLU-RAY.
It is alot of $$$, but I had to take the plunge sometime. I would recommend this set to anyone, but don't expect alot from standard cable.
I haven't noticed any "ghosting", I expect this set to last for several years. Hope this helps...

Simply breathtaking picture combined with the very stylish design makes this a win win. At a recent party guests would walk in and gasp at the beauty and clarity of the picture. I LOVE this television!

Nothing comes close to Sony XBR2 52". If you are looking for an LCD HDTV, don't go with what others have to say, just trust your eyes. I hooked it up with my blu-ray player and played "planet earth" -- cannot narrate the experience -- absolutely stunning. I have never been to any tropical rainforest but now can almost tell you how it must feel like being there, after watching the series on XBR2. 3 HDMI inputs and host of other A/V options just makes this another great product that can be extended to satisfy almost any kind of configuration needs. And Amazon was a great place to buy the TV from. I have bought almost all my Audio/Video equipment from Amazon.

I was a little disappointed with their white glove delivery however -- the corrugated box in which my TV arrived was not as new as I would have expected. Also there was only one person who hauled the TV from the truck into my living room, as opposed to two, which their delivery note said. And with this big an equipment, I had expected their truck to be at least air ride equiped. But despite that I give five stars to both the TV as well as Amazon.

Really Impressive performance right out of the box! Menu layout clean and straight forward. Color very Natural (What i've come to expect from Sony). Black levels are excellent, showing rich deep blacks with detail! I was eyeballing the Pioneer Elite Plasma but I am so glad I waited for this LCD. Also there is virtually no reflection on the screen from windows, room lights, etc. No clouding issues at all. 52" doesn't seem much bigger then the 46", but I sit about 14 feet from the screen so it probably was worth the extra $$.
Overall I am extremely impressed with this set. The styling is great also. The Sony logo fades out slowly when you turn the set off, way cool. Switching between input sources is a little slow but you can customize the ones that load or not to help get thru the choices.
