Did not work well, short distance

(1 out of 5) by Who Knows on Aug 17, 2009 (Louisiana, LA United States)
This keyboard was basically worthless. I unplugged any 2.4 items that might have been in competition, sat about 3 foot from the USB plug in, and the drop outs were terrible. It missed every 3rd or 4th letter, and the track ball mouse jumped all over the place. Just for fun, I moved into an adjacent room where my HDTV is wired as a computer monitor (the reason I bought the keyboard in the first place). It became completely unresponsive after about 15-20 foot.

On the other hand, the keyboard and mouse were ergonomically comfortable especially with the placement of the mouse buttons and scroll wheel.

I returned it as it was useless to me.

Not thrilled with it

(2 out of 5) by Thomas F. Harper Jr. on Aug 16, 2009
Like others, I've had the problem where it doesnt pick up all the keystrokes. Picking where to plug it into the HTPC and moving some stuff away from the computer seems to have improved it. Doesnt eat batteries, but it does go to sleep so dang fast that you constantly have to wake the keyboard up if you arent typing continuously.

Biggest problem I'm having is that the left mouse click buttons are already losing their spring and the left one is almost completely flat. I checked adesso's repair procedure and not only is the customer responsible for shipping, they have 87,000 requirements including copies of receipts, packing it in its original box, etc along with all sorts of charges they'll levy on you if they think its been abused, a seal is broken, etc. I dont feel like anteing up $15+ to ship it back, then have them decide they want to charge me extra for repairs.

I havent really used this to excess (maybe 40-50 times watching movies and whatnot, typing for a total of maybe 10 minutes per usage. Never had a keyboard start getting soft keys, even after far more substantial use. This has taken no abuse whatsoever.

Cant recommend anything better, but I think next time I'll just buy the el cheapo wireless keyboard at the office supply store thats a third the price and if it stops working, who cares. This one IS nice and compact and light weight, but theres no long term durability to it.

Convenient, reliable, good value

(4 out of 5) by Boyd M. Gilbreath Jr. on Aug 14, 2009 (West Palm Beach,Florida,USA)
In my recliner, 42 inch monitor, keyboard and mouse on my lap. Convenient! Once you get used to the keyboard, you still have to slow down your typing. In a few days you will be typing at the speed the system can accurately handle. Going back to a standard keyboard is effortless. With this model it is a very good idea to blow out (clean) the keyboard frequently. I believe it is a good value.

Probs w/ Adesso WKB-3000-UB

(2 out of 5) by Ted Vance on Aug 10, 2009
My Adesso WKB-3000-UB looks just like the picture, so I think it is the same product. I wanted a wireless keyboard with a built-in trackball for convenience, especially when in my lazyboy using a large TV display as the monitorm -- no wires from the TV table to my chair. The trackball is for me more convenient than a mouse, and more hand friendly than my separate trackball.

The problems are

1) Unresponsive keyboard. I have to type very slowly and deliberately or the letters may not enter the computer. I am ever erasing and retyping. I blame the wireless system for sluggishness.
2) Sudden nonfunction. All of a sudden the thing quits responding; then I have to go to the USB dongle, push its button, align the keyboard with the dongle and push the reset button on the keyboard.
3) Sudden insanity. All of a sudden the system goes on a rampage entering over and over forever and ever the last button pushed. I will be typing and then, for example, hit an s. All of a sudden a multitude of s's starts and continues entering, like: sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. The only way I know to stop the machine gun entry is to go the the USB port and pull the dongle out. Then I reinsert the dongle and go through the reset procedure outlined in 2) above.

I think I had rather use a wired keyboard if I am going to type much quantity, despite the wires to my lazyboy.

using as remove for tv

(4 out of 5) by Carol J. Cram on Jul 9, 2009
works well when computer linked to tv. trackball requires a little pressure, but works well and lets me watch Netflix VOD from the sofa.
