Good and bad.

(4 out of 5) by F. Cohee on Dec 28, 2007 (Birmingham, AL)
Reasonably priced and fantastic sound. I love the way it connects automatically when I start the truck. When I get an incoming call, it answers automatically and mutes the stereo - perfect! Dialing out is awkward (they really want you to stop the truck before dialing). I also have to use my cell phone keypad to "enter 1 for english". The biggest issue is the interface for the cell phone directory. I wish it would just read it dynamically like my Garmin Nuvi 660 does. The KCA-BT100 requires you to "send a business card" for each entry. A lot of key strokes for 90 entries. Other cell phones reportedly can upload the entire directory - but my cell phone provider does not have them. I definitely would buy it again.

Not Sure it works

(2 out of 5) by Micrablue on Mar 28, 2008 (Seven Seas, World)
I bought this Bluetooth unit because it is a feature of Kenwood's KVD 719 head unit and I love BT useage and hate having features on my head units that I don't use. Since installing, I can only get the unit to answer incoming calls, but when I speak, the person does not hear me. Maybe there is a way to turn up the volume, but I cannot find any directions on it. I end the BT conversation by switching to phone mode. I cannot transfer my phone directory at all either. At this point, I do not know if the unit even works, although it is new, because I am not sure if it is compatible with my phone. I use Verizon Wireless, and have the BT enabled Blackberry 8830 Worldphone. Since I still had my former Motorola flip phone and all my contacts in it which paired with my 530i flawlessly, I paired it with the BT100 in my truck one day to see if it worked. It did not work. I have since emailed Kenwood technical support regarding this units compatability, but have not received any feedback. This is the first question you should research before shelling out money for this unit. Kudos to those who do have it working well for them. I am by no means an expert at BT-KW products but will keep trying and researching. Good luck.

It works...

(4 out of 5) by Volodymyr Butsky on Jan 12, 2008
I installed it with Kenwood DNX7100 DVD navigation receiver. It works, but so far I couldn't find how to make it do more than just a headset (pickup/drop calls). I'm not sure if it is my phones' problem though... Sound quality is good, but I had to balance incoming voice to far right so the microphone will not pick it up and create echo.

I got a broken item and the company dose not answer back!

Good for the price

Bought two of these off of Amazon a lot cheaper than in the local Best Buy. They are easy to install and work farely well. The only issue I have is I have not figured out how to get around dialing using the phone keypad.
