Epson P-7000 Multi-Media Viewer
(5 out of 5) by . on May 26, 2009A must have for serious photographers doing field work in today's digital photography age. The Epson P-7000 provides rapid transfer of photos from the camera to the device on the go without requiring the aid of a computer. The Epson's 4" viewing window and histogram also provides a crisp and vivid look at your photos in the field, adding an extra layer of protection and quality control to your work. The price is high, but for my money, it's worth every penny.

Great tool, but....

I have had sporadic software issues that allows me to create files that I can't manipulate or delete. It takes up almost no space and is but a minor annoyance, but... if you were thinking for even a moment that Epson on-line customer assistance is going to help you- fuggedaboutit- they don't seem to issue replies on problems with these units. I tried several time in different ways. Not happening. If you want real frustration, call the California customer service number. IF you do get through, IF the call is answered after a very length automatic "hold", IF the delightfully courteous Philippino who struggles with English has an inking of what the P- units are (they don't), you'll have spent an hour+ on the phone. I love these things, I wouldn't leave home without them, but with Apple biting close at their heels, I wouldn't be planning a coming out party for the next generation model. Buy one knowing that is is disposable technology in one of the most quickly evolving arenas of computer technology.

Is deleting images easier than the P-5000?

"Usage is not intuitive, especially when deleting an image. To delete an image, you have to dig into the menu and go into delete mode as oppose to simply deleting it. So there are a normal view mode and a delete mode and you'd have to navigate between the two. The worst part is that zooming works fine in normal view mode but is disabled in delete mode. It makes sense that when you delete something, you'd want to zoom in, at least for sanity check. "
I use my SLR in sport mode, and take multiple shots in a row. Does the P-7000 make it easy to blaze through a big batch of action photos and delete the ones that I don't like?
