Get the Canon A710 IS with the accessory kit.
I did a lot of research before my purchase, and all signs pointed to the Canon A710. Now that I've had it a it a little while, I can say I that I love this camera, and having the accessory kit included with my order is a big reason why.
As far as the camera goes, it does everything I need and more. Easy enough for point-and-shooters to use, but also allows a shutterbug like me to get creative with all of the manual override settings. Plus it's much more portable than SLRs and "SLR-like" models.
I bought it with the kit just before an Alaskan vacation and I couldn't be more satisfied. I won't list everything in the kit but here's what made it worthwhile to me:
* 2-GB card to replace the 16-MB card that comes with the camera
* 4 rechargable AA-size batteries (camera uses only 2 at a time)
* Name-brand Canon camera case fits on belt, has pocket to hold the 2 extra rechargable batteries (camera by itself does not include a case)
* Battery charger recharges all 4 batteries at once, and can be used at a wall outlet OR in a car "lighter"
* Pocket tripod allowed me to get in the shots, too
To be fair, I have not done much indoors with the camera yet. Although I have noticed that the flash recylcle time seemed a bit long, it is by no means a deal-breaker. I'd rather have a smaller camera that uses only 2 AA-size batteries at a time than have a bulkier camera (or one that requires special batteries) with a faster flash recycle time.
I needed to get overnight shipping, and Ace Digital Club was very responsive to this when I contacted them about it, despite that the Expedited shipping option (1-3 days) was as soon as I could get it during my original order. It cost a little extra to get it over-nighted, but I was also able to add 3 years to the warranty when I called (also a little extra). Bottom line: a positive experience all around.

Great products, even tho the picture lies
I bought this for all the pretty awesome features, not to mention the AMAZING deal with all the accessories, this camera holds. I especially liked a feature described in the A710 product description as the 'color accent' feature. That was actually one of the reasons I wanted this camera rather than the A720, which is the one they shipped me. They had asked if it was alright to upgrade, due to some manufacturers' shipping errors that damaged their batch of cameras, I said I'd rather wait a week to have the camera I bought, I guess they called my dad, and he didn't know any better, and said 'go ahead' to upgrading.
So, I got the A720, it works like a charm, has GREAT features, the Macro mode is absolutely wonderful, it sees detail I can't even see with my own eyes, and the other features work 100% fantastically. Its just... I have no color accent feature... which is kind of sad, on my part, because now I have to color accent things manually in photoshop and they come out looking aweful, but I suppose I can't complain.
I do think that South Bay Camera's needs to update their picture, tho, because nothinig in the picture is what they sent me, except perhaps the cleaning kit and the tripod. I did not recieve a flexi-mini-tripod with my order, it was a solid legged one that works quite well, I'm not complaining with anything they sent me, simply stating the changes from what I recieved and the accessories listed. Everything was upgraded without my knowledge, though apparently they told my dad that(not like he told me). There is no battery holder/case thing in the order at all, nor the 25 free prints thing.
The case came with the tripod, and was made, actually, to hold a small video camcorder, not a simple camera, and is very large and doesn't fit, I'm using a little fleece pouch and a backpack because the case just DOES NOT work for my camera, it is not the one described to 'fit the camera' in the picture. The card reader is upgraded and works great, no issues there, the memory card is awesome as well, upgraded but works like a charm once again, as is the battery charger and it's batteries, though they are probably the cheapest rechargeable batteries out there and only hold a charge for a few days before needing changed.
I bought this camera to take with me when I become a foreign exchange student next year, (I got it early so I could understand all the features by the time I shipped out) and I simply LOVE the fact that it comes with a Euro-adapter, because I could be going to a european country and use it.
Overall, I suppose I can't complain, or I can but it's really not South Bay's fault that I can, it's really more my own, or my dad's even, it's a great camera, great accessories they all work great, eveything was upgraded at no extra charge and arrived in 1 convienient package.
