Best little speakers for devices, laptops - everything
Really crisp and clear. Loud, too. No distortion cranked to the max on my Zune. Very freaky that so much sound comes out of something so incredibly small! These are also attractive, but you can see that in the pic. Wish they didn't all have that flower shape or else I'd get my husband a set to replace his current system. Sub Woofer is a lot bigger than you think it is, but still has a really small foot print. Speakers have nice, long cloth-wrapped cords. Awesome. I hate stupid rubberized cords that seem to grow funk and dust and crap and just snake all over the place. No cords would be best but these do the job.
As for people having issues with the volume - try this. If you just touch the little + or - things, that does not seem to work. Grip it between thumb and forefinger and press it like it's a button (it's not). That seems to work. I think you have to big fingertips to get the thing to recognize you? I have no problem at all with it if I use my thumb. Fingertip - no wai!

Volume Control Issue
In response to Shazam's complaint that there is no volume control on his speaker system, although the complaint is valid in terms of design and using the "touch" system serves only to increase the volume, the volume may be decreased via the + (plus) - (minus) audio keys on your computer keyboard. I find it is easier to employ the keyboard, as it is right in front of me, instead of reaching over to the speaker to raise the volume. I hope this helps.
Great sound quality
I'm very happy with these speakers. I needed them so I could watch a DVD on my computer while I walk on the treadmill, and they needed to be loud enough to hear over the treadmill and my footsteps. Success!
I only wish they had a remote so I could adjust the volume from a distance.

Sound voumn key not working because control panel defect
I bought a set of Spyro speakers after reading a number of reviews here which diverse a lot. The major complain of the speakers is the volume adjustment keys on the right satellite do not work. Mine did not work too - I tried different ways as described in the good review but I still fails to adjust the volume. Meanwhile, the subwoofer does not make any sound.
So I gave JBL technical support a call, and a good Greek guy (native speaker) answer the call (the only good guy I met through the whole RMA process). He seems to be aware of the issue and told me if the subwoofer does not sound - then the volume adjustment keys will not work since the control board is insider the woofer and that might had been broken. The he asked me to do an RMA on their website and told me he could only exchanged me a pair of soundsticks II since the spyro had been discontinued, and the sound quality of the Soundsticks is much better than the Spyro. So I did an RMA and pushed JBL twice (by calling but always met Indian CSRs located in India, not the good guy any more, they are very inconfident and do not know what to do from time to time). I received a pair of Soundsticks after two weeks, new. The sound quality is indeed much better, but still not comparable with my other pair of Klipsch (at about the same price).
So, guys that suffering from volume key problem - do your RMA now as long as you are within year of purchase and get your soundsticks. Since I never got a normal chance to listen to these speakers - I could not comment much on them. However, thinking the size of the tweeters, I could not believe the spyros provide good sound quality - they are too tiny to do that.

I love my speakers :)
They look great and the sound tremendous. Touch volume is easy to control. Design is chic; well done. I get compliments from my friends and I was happy that they arrived so fast to begin receiving the compliments.
