Affordable Radar Detector

(4 out of 5) by Charles A. Basford on Nov 30, 2006 (Jacksonville, Fl)
I got this for Christmas last year. My wife ordered it from Overstock and installed it as soon as I opened it on Christmas. For the first couple of days while driving around it wouldn't go off. I thought it was defective until I came within a mile of a speed trap. Then it went off like crazy. The only thing I don't like about it is the range. It says 1 mile or longer but not quite that far.

Decent starter detector

(3 out of 5) by Angela Hopkins on Feb 5, 2007
Purchased this detector because the price was great. It appears to be a good starter detector. If you have the money would purchase detector that costs a little more. Haven't been by many police, but has alerted me to some and not to others... Overall, appears to be a decent detector, except the range could be better. Not sure if the range is even a mile.

High quality - low price

(5 out of 5) by ElGato on Apr 9, 2007 (KC, MO)
You can't go wrong with this radar detector for the price. I used to see patrol vehicles ahead of time, but never knew if they were running radar. Now I can often "see" them before I actually spot them. It has saved me in a school zone when I didn't even realize I had entered the school zone(I was doing 30 in a 20), so I can honestly say it has paid for itself.

SCAM

(1 out of 5) by Matthew Adams on Apr 19, 2009 (Colorado)
Do a quick search on the company and you will quickly find that the idea of a laser scrambler is a joke. There are sites on the web dedicated to helping people get their money back from Rocky Mountain. The FCC has taken action against the company. 60 Minutes did a special on Rocky Mountain exposing the operation as a scam. Save your money and buy a real detector.

Do Not Buy This

(1 out of 5) by withoutreason on Sep 11, 2009 (Florida)
Be aware that the manufacturer is known for false claims on their products. Do not expect this product to have any effect on police laser. DO NOT RISK YOUR LICENSE BY USING THIS PRODUCT. Research the company, products, the claims and the investigations against them. If you want a radar detector, look at Valentine 1, Escort/Bel or Whistler.
