Great Sound

(4 out of 5) by N. Ray on Jun 24, 2008
This group of speakers produce a great sound. I contemplated buying all separate speakers and paying a lot more, but since this setup was only for the bedroom, I decided to purchase a packaged home theater set. They may not be comparable to high end speakers but they sound great to me. The receiver I purchased only puts out 40W channel so these speakers make a nice fit. (But, it does look like they are rated to take up to 100W) I am happy with the purchase and would do it again. The price was great also. The speakers are all nice and heavy and really well made. This package did not include a subwoofer. So, I am now in the process of buying one. Some may not care for adding on a subwoofer, but I enjoy the completed sound it gives.

In summary if you are considering this package it is a good value for the money. I paid $217 including S&H charges.

Great little system

(5 out of 5) by W. Ahlborn on May 15, 2008 (Albuquerque, NM United States)
The clarity and warmth of these speakers really impress me every time I turn on my system. Paired with my Onkyo surround receiver, I am very happy with the purchase. The speakers are heavy for their size and feel very solid. It's tough to tell from the picture, but the ports are on the top angled surface, and the speaker grill has a port diffuser to disperse the sound. I bought them when they were on sale for $199; if they were regular price I would probably have had a harder time pulling the trigger. The wall mounting plates are average, a keyhole hanger design. It would be nice if they were designed to anchor to speaker stands; I had to use double sided adhesive on the bottom of the speaker to secure mine.

Great sound, value and looks!

(5 out of 5) by C. Dunavan on May 14, 2008
I got these to go along with a flat panel, PS3 and dayton 10" sub so I could enjoy blueray movies, NASCAR, music and the occasional game. After using them for a few weeks I may never leave the house for entertainment again.

They are small and come with some mounting plates for the wall. I used these for the front three but opted to use omni mounts for the back because of the shape of my room.

I have no regrets, would buy this again and only wish they sold a 7 speaker set because adding two individual speakers cost more than half the price of all five.

Excellent speakers

(5 out of 5) by KyMan on Sep 15, 2008 (Los Angeles, USA)
I purchased this set of speakers to replace my Onkyo speakers that came with HT-S6100. I am not a sound engineer, but I knew I was missing something from those Onkyo speakers. I got RM10, hooked them all up and WOW, what's a difference. They sound much better then the Onkyo speakers. Of course, you still can't compare these to Bose that cost hundreds more. But for $300 for all 5 speakers, it is a very good buy.

Very Nice 5.1 Speaker Package

(5 out of 5) by SDHaley on Jan 16, 2009 (Rochester, MN)
I purchased these as part of a new home theater system. I matched them with a Polk PSW 10 subwoofer and a Denon AVR-1909 receiver (both reviewed separately). The entire system works and sounds great.

In particular, I'm very happy with these speakers. They're a really good quality set of speakers for a very affordable price. They were the best value I could find. The sound is clear, crisp and well balanced. The build quality is excellent -- solid enclosures with sturdy wire posts. They weigh more than what you would guess from the pictures.

I shopped for several months looking for good quality speakers that fit into my budget. After reading some of the forums (www.avsforum.com) and audio/video reviews on-line, I narrowed down my search to three brands: Polk, Energy, and Definitive Technology. All three seemed to have well respected products near my price point. I was able to listen to the Polks and Definitive at an audio store and decided on the RM10's (along with the PSW 10 subwoofer). For the price (around $210/set) they were simply the best value.

These were purchased on Amazon but through WholeSaleAv. I had no problems with delivery or this vendor.
