Kindle 2 Replacement Cord

(5 out of 5) by Robert Cohen on Nov 14, 2009 (Columbus OH)
The cord it fine. The other junk that it comes with is unnecessary. (ear buds, screen cover, etc) I guess they feel guilty charging $16.00 for a cord that probably costs $ 2.00 or less to make

Look closely

It escaped my notice that the '1' means "Kindle [version] 1" as opposed to "[qty] 1 replacement cable". For inexplicable reasons, Amazon chose a different connector for power port between the version 1 and version 2 of the Kindle. So when I went to plug the cord into my version 2 Kindle, it didn't fit.

Nice product to have if you don't have service in your area, just plug in,buy books , and it downloads them from your home computer

A much-needed accessory to my Kindle

(5 out of 5) by Mary T. Graffeo on Mar 17, 2009 (New York, USA)
When a good friend gave me her Kindle Ebook reader to take to the hospital for my kidney transplant, I was overjoyed, as I had wanted a Kindle ever since they came out. However, I wanted to load books not found on the Kindle site, and the cord had been lost. Thus, this USB cable allows me to download books from other Ebook sites, and in French, and transfer them to my Kindle. I wouldn't be without this cable for my Kindle!

I wish this charged!

I love my kindle! I read it constantly BUT today i broke my adapter...it's really to weak. Anywho, i've been trying to find a way to charge it while i await the arrival of my replacement adapter. My iPhone can charge through a USB port with my computer and through it's adapter..I wish my kindle could too. :(
