Most Helpful First | Newest First | + ShareWorst AM reception I have ever experienced.
I wasn't expecting great sound from a $40 radio, but I thought it would be exceptable to use in the kitchen. I have purchased many radios over the years, but I have never had such poor reception until this one. I moved it to different areas of the house and different outlets and I couldn't even tune in the two most powerful local AM stations... just static. And FM, which is usually pretty clear, was't much better. I am so fed up with the cheap crap sold in America now days, I think we've all been taken on a sucker's ride. A $10 transister radio would have worked better. Don't waste your money, time, and frustration on this junk.
Nice features, but light is way too bright
This unit has a lot of nice features, such as radio presets, dual alarms, can play a CD for the alarm, and it can also accept input from an mp3 player.
Unfortunately, the dimmest setting is way too bright. It is the brightest backlight I have seen on an alarm clock. It is too bright to sleep, and so I had to unplug it the first night.

Fine CD player --- LCD Too Bright!
Functionally this worked just like you would expect. But, the display is as bright as a flashlight. Even on the dim setting, it lit up the room like a light house. The only way to turn off the bright blue, was to unplug it (leaving it to run on batteries), but that would do. Too bad cause it sounded great.
Don't waste your money!
I bought this at Target on clearance for about $49.98 in April 2008. The CD player broke about 5 months later and Memorex replaced it for free outside the 90-day warranty. I've had this second one for 5 months and again, the CD player broke (won't read the CD, just spins). I tried to clean it as customer service suggested but it didn't help. No luck getting a replacement. Now I know why it was on clearance. This thing is a piece of junk. I'd have given it half a star if I could.
Absolute Junk!
This is the worst piece of you know what that I've bought in years.
Main problem is that the CD player mechanism makes so much noise that it drowns out the sound of the music coming from the speakers!!
I bought this thinking that Memorex was a good brand (remembering them from the days of cassettes), but I was so very wrong...
I will stick to name brands from now on. Name brands that are know for making good electronics that is.
